12 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Mahavir Ramanujam! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ramanujam manages to avoid it. Ramanujam jabbing away but nothing is landing. Peterson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Ramanujam fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Ramanujam moves out of range of the leg kick from Peterson . Ramanujam finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Ramanujam throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Peterson loads up on a big right hand but Ramanujam slips the punch. Peterson walks into a straight right hand from Ramanujam. A slow jab from Peterson misses its intended target. Peterson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Peterson keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Peterson lands with an uppercut that bounces Ramanujam off the cage and back into range. Ramanujam throws a head kick that misses. A looping hook to the body misses from Peterson . Peterson trying to control the position from guard on top but Ramanujam is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ramanujam is trying to control the position but Peterson postures up. Ramanujam is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Peterson has gone for a leg lock! Ramanujam slips out almost immediately though and dives into Peterson 's guard.

Peterson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Peterson !

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ramanujam is looking for a sweep. Peterson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Butcher checks a leg kick. Butcher scores with a punch to the head. Kage throws a nice inside leg kick. Kage showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Butcher.
Kage lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. A good leg kick by Kage. Kage tries to score a power double leg takedown but Butcher sees that one coming and sprawls well.
