Kessler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wesley paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Murchison lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kilpatrick circles away quickly and effectively.

Thor dives in for a single leg takedown but Schultz sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Salvador is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Salvador stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Theron swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Theron has his foot on Salvador's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Salvador works his way back into a safe position though.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beef stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Smith.
Smith lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Smith connects with a body shot that sends Beef's belly button to the back.

Beef breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Beef takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

James fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Boulks manages to avoid it.
James fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
James throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Boulks showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from James.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Boulks moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Boulks slips a straight right by James.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that James has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Boulks avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

James throws a body punch but Boulks moves out of range.
James swinging wildly here.
Boulks walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
James lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
James misses with a low kick as Boulks jumps back.
Boulks uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from James.
A nice combination there by James.
James throws an off balance right hand
and Boulks counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've been told by Boulks's head coaches at ~T~ Troid - Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
James throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Boulks showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from James.
Boulks with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling James to score with a decent uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
James throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
James cracks Boulks with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
James feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Boulkss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
James misses with a straight right.
Boulks moves away from the strike by James.
James ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

James scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from James.
Boulks keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
James throws a low kick but it's checked well by Boulks.
James lands a nice shot that snaps Boulks's head back.
Boulks ducks under a wild hook from James.
James dips to his left and cracks Boulks with an uppercut!
James throws a right and a left that Boulks avoids nicely.

James throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin James dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Boulks might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

James has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

and Boulks counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Boulks counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks James out cold! What a finish! Boulks is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
