Gruber wants to lay and pray for a moment but Garcia keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gruber lands a decent elbow from side control. Gruber landing a few strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gruber stands up and we're back to a striking position. Gruber closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gruber just content to control the position. Gruber has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Garcia is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Gruber yanks on the arm and Garcia is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Gruber.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Green enables Bolas to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Green manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Bolas trying to control but Green is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bolas sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Green's guard. Bolas throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Green is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bolas pulls his head out easily. Nice strikes from Bolas there. Bolas with the ground and pound but Green uses the opportunity to regain guard. Green is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bolas defends well. Green can't keep his opponent in guard - Bolas advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bolas seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Green does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bolas lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Bolas is trying to control. Green wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Bolas not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Green is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bolas pulls his head out easily. Bolas is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bolas lands a nice short elbow. Bolas is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

We've been hearing that Bolas has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Bolas landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Bolas scoring with strikes to the body and head. Bolas lands strikes from half guard. Bolas takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Bolas seems to be looking for submissions.
Green is staying active underneath Bolas, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Green looking for submissions off his back. Bolas frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Garcia pushes Obsut away with a front kick. Garcia connects with a leg kick. Obsut looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Garcia digs a good body shot into Obsut's ribs.
