6 - 45 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Birdman Lugz! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.

Lugz goes for a double leg but Essss avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Essss continues to drive forward. Lugz blocks an uppercut.
Essss slowing the pace effectively. Essss is trying to pull guard but Lugz has him pressed against the cage. Essss pressing his opponent against the cage. Essss tries for a takedown but Lugz manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Essss. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lugz blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Lugz has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Essss avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Essss has Lugz pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lugz manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Lugz keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Essss's efforts to push away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Essss wants to control from the top but Lugz keeps moving. Essss throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lugz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Lugz wants to control from the top but Essss keeps moving. Lugz is fighting to break Essss's control of his arms but Essss is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Essss is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Essss fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lugz lands a lovely overhand right. Ken Essss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Essss throws a left and a right that both miss
and Lugz counters with a stiff right hand.
Lugz tries to keep at a distance but Essss has taken the fight into the clinch. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ken Essss will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Ken Essss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Birdman Lugz.

Essss has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lugz takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. This has been an exciting period of action! Essss scoring with strikes but Lugz is staying in there.
Essss has hold of Lugz's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lugz manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Essss goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Okafor's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, how i could just kill a man. Lawler is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Tom Petty- I Wont Back Down. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

and Okafor counters with a two punch combo. Ricky Lawler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lawler scores with a jab to the body. Okafor dodges the punch combination from Lawler.
Okafor tries a head kick but it misses.
Lawler lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Lawler swings away with a body shot that misses
and Okafor counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A solid leg kick lands there for Okafor.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Good leg kick by Lawler there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Lawler fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Okafor manages to avoid it. Okafor throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Lawler throws a body shot but no joy. Lawler misses with a double jab.

Lawler lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Okafor wants to clinch up but Lawler keeps it at a distance. Okafor avoids the head kick by Lawler.

Lawler shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Lawler tries to close the distance and clinch up but Okafor swats him away and circles back towards the center. Okafor goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Lawler tries to bum rush Okafor with a series of wild strikes but Okafor uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Lawler cracks Okafor with an open hand slap. Okafor checks a leg kick.

Okafor rushes Lawler and presses him up against the cage. Okafor with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Okafor lands a nice knee to the body. Okafor unloads a knee to the mid-section. Lawler lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Lawler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Okafor tries a head kick but it misses.
Okafor throws a half hearted mid kick. Lawler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Okafor paws at him with a jab and circles away. Okafor scores with a push kick. Okafor throws a head kick that misses. Okafor thumps Lawler with a low kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lawler tries a head kick but it misses.

and Okafor counters with a nice low kick that buckles Lawler's knee momentarily. Okafor scores with a push kick. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Okafor works Lawler's body with a nice hook. Lawler misses with a hook. Lawler throws a low kick but it's checked well by Okafor. Lawler pivots, looking for a leg kick but Okafor is out of range and Lawler settles back down. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Apio Okafor dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ricky Lawler's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Lawler scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Okafor staying out of range there. Okafor lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Okafor is looking to wear down Lawler with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Okafor throws out a powerful jab. Lawler moves out of range of the body kick from Okafor.
Apio Okafor is winning the standup battle so far. Nice body kick there by Okafor. Lawler scores with a hook. Okafor's Muay Thai looks sharper than normal. He has obviously been working on it in the gym. Okafor delivers a nice body kick. Okafor tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Okafor uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lawler.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Lawler in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Koko throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Koko does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Dunn avoids the body shot from Koko.

That had to hurt Dunn. We've been told by Dunn's head coaches at Nonprofit Vegas Elite $50 ($1000 value) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Koko takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Koko darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Dunn staying out of range there.

Dunn throws a lazy right hand but Koko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Koko lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dunn's sensitive parts. Koko scores with a body shot.

Dunn tries to bum rush Koko with a series of wild strikes but Koko uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Dunn lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Dunn swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dunn jabbing away but nothing is landing. Koko throws a low kick but Dunn avoids it. Koko feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dunn's calf. Koko takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
