 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Atreides throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A head kick misses from Polo. No joy there for Atreides, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Polo with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Paul Atreides seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Polo lands a high kick!
Polo feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Atreides's calf. Polo scores with a head kick. Atreides tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
 It looks like Paul Atreides has been cut.
Atreides closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Polo to the mat! Polo manages to get full guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Atreides stands and throws Polo's legs to the side, diving into side control. Polo is not content to let Atreides control the position. The referee asks Atreides politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Atreides prefers to stall for the moment though. Polo is looking for a sweep. Atreides advances to mount. Atreides wants to control the pace but Polo is squirming around nicely.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Polo tries to reverse the position but Atreides maintains control. Atreides trying to control but Polo is having none of it.
Atreides is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Polo is surviving well by controlling Atreides's body position as best he can. Polo is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Atreides jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Polo manages to avoid the submission attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Polo is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Atreides wants to lay and pray for a moment but Polo keeps working.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Polo wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Polo is looking to reverse the position. Atreides is looking to take a break and control but Polo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Atreides has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Polo is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Atreides yanks on the arm and Polo is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Atreides.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sapp throws a looping overhand right but Grey ducks down to avoid it. The fighters circling - Sapp throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Grey throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sapp misses with a left hand
and Grey counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Grey. Sapp has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Grey is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Sapp drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Jon Grey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Sapp.

 It looks like Jon Grey has been cut. Grey looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sapp is fending him off so far but Grey persists. Nope, Sapp circles away and we're back to standing. Sapp misses with a wild combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Grey shoots for a takedown but Sapp saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Grey's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Grey duly obliges. Danga de danga de dang - Grey scores with a four punch combination! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sapp throws a jab but it's blocked by Grey. Grey listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Sapp throws a shot from downtown. Grey moves away and avoids it. Grey cracks Sapp with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Bob Sapp is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sapp misses the jab. Grey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sapp tries to avoid it but Grey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sapp to the ground. Sapp escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Grey looks to score with a jab to the body but Sapp is just out of range. A jab from Sapp misses. Sapp misses with a hook. Grey walks into a jab. OH! Grey has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Sapp smells blood and charges in for the finish! Sapp unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Grey sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Michalek needs to keep his hands up - Blaze had a free shot at his head there. Michalek connects with a solid leg kick.

Michalek pulls guard effortlessly. Blaze wants to stand but Michalek is controlling his posture from full guard. Blaze preventing the sweep. Michalek seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Michalek is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Blaze postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Blaze throwing strikes but missing.

 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Michalek lands with a straight right. Blaze didn't see that one coming. Michalek circles away from the clinch attempt and Michalek counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Nice body punch from Michalek. Blaze takes a swing at Michalek's ribcage but misses. Blaze walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Michalek looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Michalek is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Blaze is just riding it out for now. Michalek eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Michalek wants to pass the guard but Blaze is defending well.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Blaze regains full guard. Nicely done. Michalek is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Blaze is trying to keep Michalek in close.
Our spies down at at Evil Empire: �AWAKENING� inform us that Blaze has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Blaze looking to hit a scissor sweep but Michalek is one step ahead there. Michalek is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Blaze scores with a hook to the body. Michalek takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. A swing and a miss from Blaze.
Michalek shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Michalek was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Blaze gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Blaze tries to get to full guard but Michalek has control of the leg. Milan Michalek overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Blaze with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Michalek to score with a decent uppercut. Blaze throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Michalek fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Blaze. Blaze lands with an uppercut that bounces Michalek off the cage and back into range. Michalek staying out of range there. Johnny Blaze is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Michalek darts in and out, connecting with a jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Blaze throws a nice looking combination but Michalek bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Michalek is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Blaze can do to turn this around? Michalek throws a monster overhand right that drops Blaze! Michalek follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Caesar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Caesar creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Melcher sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Caesar wants to control but Melcher is keeping him busy. Melcher is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Caesar working the ground and pound but Melcher is defending the strikes.

Caesar is pulling down on Melcher's head to control his posture. Melcher must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Caesar's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Jon Melcher has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alberto Caesar is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Caesar is staying tight to Melcher's torso, preventing him from escaping. Caesar has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight! Alberto Caesar showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Caesar, winning every round. Will the judges agree?  The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown avoids a punch combination nicely.
Drake drives through and clinches with Brown against the cage.
Brown pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Drake tries to bum rush Brown with a series of wild strikes but Brown uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Nice defenses there by Drake. Brown walks into a straight right hand from Drake. We've been told by Drake's head coaches at M Jay's Training Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Brown lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Drake pushes Brown up against the cage in a clinch. Brown can't break the clinch.
Brown lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Brown blocking some punches.
Drake pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Drake lands an elbow inside. Drake misses with a hook from the clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nice elbow from Drake. Drake throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. James misses with a series of wild punches.

Axelsson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. James looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Axelsson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The strikes coming from Axelsson are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Axelsson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but James does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. James wants to get back to full guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Johan Axelsson.
