Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brent Redoak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kim Jong Un! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Jong Un looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jong Un lands a jab. Jong Un connects with a right hand. Redoak shakes it off. Jong Un is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jong Un is looking to clinch. Jong Un jabs at Redoak's body. Jong Un digs a good hook to Redoak's body.
Jong Un connects with a crisp jab.
It looks like Brent Redoak has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jong Un keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Redoak darts in looking for a takedown but Jong Un gets double underhooks and turns Redoak into the cage. Jong Un softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Jong Un doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jong Un lands with a short head shot on the inside. Jong Un gets underhooks to prevent Redoak's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brent Redoak. That's going to take a lot out of him. Redoak is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jong Un pulls him back up using the underhooks. Jong Un working some nice short punches in the clinch. A short uppercut from Jong Un. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Jong Un. Redoak's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Jong Un has eaten all the pies! Jong Un working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Jong Un working some nice short punches in the clinch. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Jong Un. Redoak is breathing heavily. Jong Un lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Redoak backwards. A short body shot lands from Jong Un as the two fighters clinch.
Jong Un scores with a shot to the side of Redoak's head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jong Un throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Redoaks head. Redoak jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jong Un walks away with a smile on his face. Redoak gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jong Un wants to clinch up but Redoak keeps it at a distance. Jong Un defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Redoak. Jong Un cracks Redoak with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Redoak looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Jong Un finish him?
Redoak is rocked! Jong Un lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Redoak up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Jong Un from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Redoak's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kim Jong Un!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pettis gets a double leg takedown into Phil's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pettis controlling from the top position. Let's hope that Pettis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. It looks like Pettis might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pettis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Phil utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pettis's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pettis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Phil is keeping the position for now.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Pettis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Phil swivels and escapes. Horrible takedown attempt by Pettis or perhaps it was just good defense by Phil, which made it look bad. Pettis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Phil is trying to defend but Pettis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Pettis sitting and controlling from the half guard. Pettis is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Phil is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
