1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joseph Acton! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Acton looks to score with a jab to the body but Panteleev is just out of range. Acton throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Panteleev counters with a nice body shot. Acton misses with a straight right. Acton doesn't manage to clinch there - Panteleev circles away.
Panteleev tests Acton's chin there with a solid looking shot. Panteleev connects with a single shot there. Acton misses with the combination.
Acton throws a right hand that Panteleev ducks under and follows up with a left that Panteleev also avoids with ease. Panteleev connects with a body shot that sends Acton's belly button to the back. Panteleev fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Acton looks winded! Acton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Panteleev swats him away and circles back towards the center. A shot to the liver by Panteleev. Beautiful body shot. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Panteleev lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Acton backs up against the cage.
Panteleev throws a quick inside leg kick. Acton misses with a series of wild punches.
Panteleev tries a low kick but Acton avoids it. Panteleev scores with a sloppy right hand. Acton should have avoided that one. Panteleev throws a half hearted mid kick.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Panteleev thuds his right hand into Acton's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Panteleev lands a nice looking body shot.
Panteleev moves into the clinch successfully.
Panteleev gets through Acton's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. I was talking to Panteleev's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Acton is working for takedown but Panteleev is calmly controlling the position for now. Acton's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Panteleev softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. A nice right hand lands inside from Panteleev. Panteleev lands a nice uppercut. Panteleev using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Acton has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Panteleev lands a left hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Panteleev lands on the inside with an uppercut. Panteleev tries to land a knee to the head but Acton blocks with his arms.
Panteleev lands a nice uppercut. Panteleev unloads a knee to the mid-section. Panteleev lands with a left to the head. Panteleev pushes Acton back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Acton jabbing away but nothing is landing. Panteleev lands a nice hook to Acton's body. Acton takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Panteleev will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Acton drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Panteleev misses with a wild body shot. Panteleev throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Panteleev jabs Acton to the body, keeping him at a distance. Panteleev blocks a jab. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Panteleev, right into the meat.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Panteleev lands a nice hook to Acton's body. Acton takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Panteleev clobbers Acton with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Panteleev stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Panteleev!
Panteleev wants to clinch. No joy there for Panteleev, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Acton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Acton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Panteleev manages to avoid it. Panteleev swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Panteleev clinches up against the cage. A nice left hand lands by Panteleev.
This has been an exciting period of action! Acton tries to break free but Panteleev pushes him back against the cage.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Panteleev just leaning against Acton, taking a breather. Acton blocks an elbow strike from Panteleev.
A short right from Panteleev. Panteleev is pressed up against the cage. Acton has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Panteleev down to the mat. Panteleev avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Panteleev closes the distance and clinches. Panteleev lands with a short head shot on the inside. A short right from Panteleev on the inside. Panteleev lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Acton backwards. Panteleev scores with an uppercut up the middle. Acton is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Panteleev is keeping busy. Panteleev lands with a short punch from the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Good body shot from Panteleev.
We've been informed that Acton has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Acton has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Acton tries to pull guard but Panteleev holds him up against the cage and eventually Acton drops back down to his feet.

 It looks like Joseph Acton has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A short right from Panteleev on the inside.

Acton is breathing heavily. Acton misses with an uppercut. Panteleev with a nice cross. Acton is still on wobbly legs! Can Panteleev finish him? A shot to the liver by Panteleev. Beautiful body shot. Panteleev goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Acton seems to have recovered his senses. Panteleev is looking to land body kicks.

Panteleev breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Panteleev lands with an uppercut that bounces Acton off the cage and back into range. Acton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Acton takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Panteleev wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Panteleev misses with an attempted mid kick.
Panteleev is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Acton can do to turn this around? Acton looks up at the clock. Bad move! Panteleev lands a right hand from hell, dropping Acton. Panteleev pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith slips a jab and a cross from Rock.
Rock paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Rock lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
 It looks like Draco Smith has been cut. A slow jab from Rock misses its intended target. Rock throws a lazy uppercut
and Smith counters with a nice double leg into guard. Smith seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Rock really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Smith has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Smith seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rock for as long as he can get away with. Smith advances to half guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Smith keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Smith throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Smith keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Smith trying to mount his opponent but Rock defends it.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rock throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Smith counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Rock! Smith working the head with strikes. Smith advances to mount.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Rock wants to control but Smith is having none of it. Smith sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Rock takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Smith looking to control and managing it successfully. This is a sustained period of stalling by Smith.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Smith. BOOM! Smith connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Smith cracks Rock with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rock can do anything to dispel that myth. Smith breaks from Rock's wrist control and lands an elbow. Smith connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Smith connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smith with a couple of short strikes.

Draco Smith dominated that round. The cut man is working on Draco Smith's cut. That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Rock connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Smith throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Rock moves out of range as Smith strikes. Rock blocks a jab. Smith lands with a shot to the body. Smith fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rock looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Smith misses with a looping left. Smith looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Smith throws a lazy right hand but Rock sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Ben Rock seems to be getting the better of the standup. A jab from Smith misses. Rock avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Smith jabbing away but nothing is landing. Smith looks to land a right hand but Rock moved out of range. Rock moves out of range of the strikes. Smith throws an overhand right that lands on Rock's shoulder, as Rock tries to avoid the shot. Smith thows a left - swing and a miss! The fighters circling - Smith throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Smith misses with a left hand and Rock counters with a stiff right hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smith throws a jab but it's blocked by Rock. Smith looks to land a right hand but Rock moved out of range. Rock avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Rock displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Smith throws out the jab. Rock slips under a jab from Smith. Rock throws a predictable looking body shot
and Smith shoots in for a double leg counter - driving through into a slam and Rock is out! The slam has knocked him out cold! Devastating for Rock but Smith is celebrating as the crowd goes wild!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice body punch from McCurnin. Taisumov throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Taisumov throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. McCurnin looks to clinch and Taisumov counters with a stiff right hand. Taisumov's coach down at Iron Fist Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Taisumov's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Avery McCurnin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Taisumov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McCurnin circles away quickly and effectively. McCurnin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Taisumov.
McCurnin gets in close and instigates a clinch. Taisumov wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McCurnin has him pressed against the cage. McCurnin keeps control of Taisumov as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McCurnin misses with a short punch on the inside.

McCurnin moves to clinch but Taisumov breaks away enabling Taisumov to counter with a crisp jab. McCurnin drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. McCurnin stalks Taisumov and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Taisumov's face. Taisumov staggers backwards, shaken.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. McCurnin shoots for a takedown but Taisumov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Taisumov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
McCurnin drives through and clinches with Taisumov against the cage.

McCurnin fails to pull the fight into his guard.
McCurnin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. McCurnin moves to clinch but Taisumov breaks away and Taisumov counters with a straight right hand.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. A punch combination from Taisumov misses. McCurnin moves to clinch but Taisumov breaks away and McCurnin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
 McCurnin is rocked! McCurnin misses with a wild body shot. McCurnin throws a looping overhand right but Taisumov ducks down to avoid it. Aslan Taisumov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. McCurnin walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Taisumov checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. McCurnin throws a right and a left that both miss. McCurnin wants to clinch enabling Taisumov to counter with a crisp jab.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Taisumov throws a combination that misses and McCurnin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. McCurnin tries to clinch up. McCurnin tries to clinch but Taisumov is having none of it. Taisumov swats away the attempt to clinch by McCurnin. Taisumov gets cracked with a nice right hand there by McCurnin. Taisumov misses with a series of wild punches.

That was a close round but I would say that Avery McCurnin will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Taisumov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McCurnin circles away quickly and effectively. McCurnin seems to have got his legs back now. A combination from Taisumov does no damage. McCurnin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Taisumov counters with a crisp one two that drops McCurnin! Taisumov thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves McCurnin to his feet! McCurnin is in big trouble! Avery McCurnin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!  The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Filgueiras dives in for a single leg takedown but Tate sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Filgueiras pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Tate lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chandler circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wonha slips a straight right by Chandler. Wonha lands with a kick to the ribs.
Wonha takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Wonha defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Chandler. Wonha goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.  The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kolpakov scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Tuckich on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Kolpakov cracks a nice hook into Tuckich's ribs. Tuckich throws a lazy uppercut
and Kolpakov counters with a nice low kick that buckles Tuckich's knee momentarily. Tuckich fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kolpakov avoids it really well and circles away. Tuckich on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Tuckich walks into a jab.
 It looks like Hans Tuckich has been cut. Kolpakov's coach down at Iron Fist Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kolpakov's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Tuckich gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kolpakov counters with a lovely straight right hand! Tuckich takes a jab right on the kisser.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tuckich lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Nikolai Kolpakov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kolpakov with a body punch. A glancing blow. Kolpakov keeps Tuckich at a distance using the push kick. Tuckich moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Tuckich stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kolpakov. A jab from Kolpakov finds it's way through Tuckich's defenses. Tuckich on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Nikolai Kolpakov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Hans Tuckich's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Kolpakov finds Tuckich's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Tuckich flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Kolpakov lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Tuckich will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Robledo Puch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Umba Matumba! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Puch missing with a left hand there. Matumba was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Puch slips a jab and a cross from Matumba.
Puch looks to land a right hand but Matumba moved out of range. Puch dodges the punch combination from Matumba.
Matumba throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Matumba avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Matumba lands with an overhand left. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Puch shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Matumba is trying to defend but Puch finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Puch scoring with strikes to the body and head. Matumba taking some punishment here, with Puch in his half guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Puch looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Matumba with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Puch lands strikes from half guard. Puch looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Puch winds up and cracks Matumba with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Puch has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Puch working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Matumba is trying to stand.
Matumba is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Puch's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Puch's back!
Matumba is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Puch knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Puch for a finish. Puch is in bad spot here.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Puch not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Puch working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Matumba's head. Matumba is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Puch dives into side control.
Matumba is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Puch is controlling him well. Puch lands an elbow. Puch works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Matumba is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Puch off and has taken his back! Puch trying to control the action but Matumba just sinks the hooks in.
Matumba looking to break Puch's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Puch remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Matumba will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Puch tries to roll but Matumba sticks to his back.
Puch is working hard here to advance position. Matumba doesn't have the hooks in and Puch manages to turn into his guard.

Matumba working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Puch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Puch manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Puch stops Matumba from standing up.
Puch got a little sloppy there for a moment and Matumba has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Puch has managed to get both his arms back between Matumba's legs - danger averted. Puch has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Puch scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Puch works over Matumba with some ground and pound from guard. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Matumba is on top in guard.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Matumba is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Puch is controlling him. Puch loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Puch is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Matumba wants to sweep but no luck. Puch working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Matumba's head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Puch with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Matumba escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Puch gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Matumba is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Robledo Puch dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Matumba. Those never looked like landing. Puch throws a lazy uppercut
and Matumba counters with a three punch combo that has Puch backing up. Puch nods at Matumba to acknowledge the strikes. Matumba looks to land a combination but Puch avoids it well. Matumba drops his hands momentarily and Puch takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Puch misses with an uppercut. Matumba saw that one coming. Matumba falls off balance throwing a combination
so Puch counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Puch is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Matumba had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Puch defends it easily. Puch trying to control but Matumba is working from the bottom. Puch postures up and lands a big shot to Matumba's brow. Matumba keeping moving, preventing Puch from controlling successfully. Puch landing with the ground and pound. Puch with a nice head shot there. Matumba wants to sweep here but Puch controlling him for the moment. Puch scoring with punches to the head and body. Puch is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Matumba can do to turn this around? Matumba has momentary wrist control but Puch slips an elbow through the middle.
 Matumba is rocked! Puch pushes down on Matumba's leg and manages to get into half guard. Matumba is still in real trouble! Can Puch finish him? Puch is nestled in close to Matumba, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Puch scores with a big shot! Matumba's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Matumba! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
