The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lester shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Yeun is trying to defend but Lester finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Lester passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Yeun! Lester wants to control the pace but Yeun is squirming around nicely. Lester looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lester unloads with some shots from mount but Yeun bucks and avoids them well.

Yeun uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Lester has time to react. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lester shoots in for a takedown but Yeun shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Moe Lester. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lester misses with a takedown attempt - Yeun sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Yeun tries to counter by closing the distance.

Lester jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Yeun walks away with a smile on his face. Lester gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Yeun looks to land a combination but Lester avoids it well. Lester has a takedown stuffed. A little jabbing left from Yeun on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Moe Lester seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lester on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Lester changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Yeun looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lester is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Yeun is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Yeun wants to get back to his feet but Lester drags him back down. Lester advances to mount. Lester content just to control the position here. Lester trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Lester takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Lester is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Yeun is surviving well by controlling Lester's body position as best he can. Lester looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Lester sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. I was talking to Katsuo's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Katsuo breaks from the clinch.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! El Rojo thows a body kick. Blackwood tries to catch it but that hurt him. A leg kick checked by Blackwood. Blackwood shoots for a takedown but El Rojo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. El Rojo tries to counter by closing the distance. Blackwood shoots and misses and El Rojo makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. El Rojo throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Blackwood counters with a shoot takedown. El Rojo fights it but they end up in guard. Blackwood is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. El Rojo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blackwood throws a strike but El Rojo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. El Rojo wants to control from the top but Blackwood keeps moving. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's one minute gone in the round. El Rojo looking to pass the guard. Blackwood has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Blackwood keeping moving, preventing El Rojo from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blackwood managing to control the position. Blackwood has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. El Rojo trying to control the position from guard on top but Blackwood is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. El Rojo won't allow Blackwood to sweep him here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. El Rojo closes the distance but Blackwood moves to the side and Blackwood counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Blackwood connects with a nice short shot to El Rojo's temple. Blackwood not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. El Rojo tries to roll over but Blackwood keeps him under control. Blackwood looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
It looks like Django El Rojo has been cut. El Rojo is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Blackwood seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Blackwood frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Azumah dives in for a single leg takedown but Yoshida sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Azumah throws a looping overhand right but Yoshida ducks down to avoid it. Azumah has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Azumah drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Azumah moves into full mount! Yoshida holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Azumah tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Tono has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Udo on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Tono. Tono obviously looking to wear him down.
Udo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Udo wants it to stay on the feet. Tono lands with a kick to the ribs.

Udo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tono can do to turn this around? Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Udo, as that shot connected.
Udo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Udo staying out of range there. Udo takes a swing at Tono's ribcage but misses. Udo connects with a right hand. Tono shakes it off.

Udo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Udo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Tono stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Tono's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Udo thuds his right hand into Tono's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Udo sizes up Tono with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Udo keeps the fight on the outside. Udo throwing a counter right hand but Tono manages to avoid it. Udo misses with the combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tono walks into a jab. Rama Udo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Udo throws a leg kick which misses Tono's front leg but catches the back leg as Tono tries to avoid it. Udo goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. This has been an exciting period of action! Udo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Takeshi Tono has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tono dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Udo. That did some damage! Udo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Rama Udo showed his dominance in that final round. Well Udo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Rautakallio thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Wick is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rautakallio is controlling him well. Rautakallio in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Wick is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
