0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Bones! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chin moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bones drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chin is looking for a sweep. Chin wants to control but Bones postures up. Bones tries to stand but Chin is controlling his head. Chin is looking for a sweep. Chin is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bones's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Chin is trying to maintain the position but Bones is very close to passing his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chin is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Chin manages to get to full guard.
Chin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Chin wants to control but Bones passes easily into half guard.
Bones wants to get back to his feet.
Chin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bones's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bones's back! Bones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Chin is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Bones trying to control the position but Chin manages to sink in the hooks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chin missing with strikes. Bones trying to control the hands but Chin breaks the grip. Chin keeps control of the position as Bones tries to break free.
Bones avoids the strikes from Chin. Chin lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Chin.
Can Bones hold on?! Chin is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Chin lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Chin controlling well, preventing Bones from escaping the position.
Bones looks gassed! Bones trying to control the hands but Chin breaks the grip. Chin trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chin is hanging on to Bones's back as he tries to escape.
A lull in the action here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chin controlling the position well here. Bones rolled but Chin kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Bones trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Chin punches the canvas rather than the man. Bones is really stuck here.

Naolo Chin dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Bones shoots in for a double leg but Chin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Chin swats away the attempt to clinch by Bones. Chin lands a glancing blow to the side of Bones's head. Bones throws a nice looking combination but Chin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Some wild striking there from Bones.
Chin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Bones throws a hook to the side of Chin's head but Chin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Chin forces Bones back against the cage and clinches. Chin is working for takedown but Bones is calmly controlling the position for now. Bones wants to break the clinch but can't.
Chin digs a right hand underneath Bones's ribcage. Bones let out a lung full of air as it connected. Bones is breathing heavily. Chin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Chin bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Bones defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Chin. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Naolo Chin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bones as he jumps to the side. Bones takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Bones takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Chin closes the distance and clinches up with Bones, looking for a takedown. Chin pushes Bones against the cage but Bones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Chin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bones swivels and escapes. Bones throws a series of punches but Chin moves out of range. Bones tries to keep at a distance but Chin has taken the fight into the clinch. Chin manages to break the clinch.
Chin misses with a double jab
and Bones counters with a single leg into guard. Chin didn't expect that. Bones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Chin has his foot on Bones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bones works his way back into a safe position though. Chin looking for a sweep. Not yet Chin, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bones postures up.
Chin wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Bones stops Chin from standing up. Bones wants to get up but he can't break Chin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Chin is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Bones frees his head nicely. Oh but Chin has switched to an armbar! Bones is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hopkins circles away. Hopkins shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mt napping and manages to drive through into side control! Hopkins grinds an elbow into Mt's temple. Mt tries to buck Hopkins off but Hopkins is having none of it. Mt taking punishment in the form of punches.
It looks like Ja Mt has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hopkins scores with punches from side control. Mt tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hopkins landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Mt is rocked! Hopkins cracks Mt with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Hopkins immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Mt is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Hopkins!

It looks like Hanley Oakley has been cut. Hanley Oakley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Davis drops Oakley with a beautiful combination! Oakley stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Davis is looking for the KO!

Oakley is still on wobbly legs! Can Davis finish him? The fight stays on the outside here - Oakley looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Oakley seems to have recovered his senses. Davis is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Davis Rushes Oakley and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Oakley is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Davis Piles on the pressure and Oakley crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Messersmith takes a step backwards and waves Mfume back to his feet - he wants the finish! Mfume is looking to take this fight into the clinch. A head kick misses from Messersmith. Messersmith tries to close the distance and clinch but Mfume swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Mfume steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Messersmith. Mfume takes a kick to the side of the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Messersmith! Mfume is out on his feet! Messersmith rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Mfume is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Mfume is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Borinski missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Borinski is looking to take a break and control but McClusky is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. McClusky holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Jack McClusky is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Let's hope that McClusky has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

James has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wizard is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Wizard gets underhooks to prevent James's takedown attempt.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wizard drops back looking for a leg! James is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and James manages to kick Wizard off! Wizard jumps back into James's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wizard looking to pass the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. James is trying to control the position but Wizard postures up. Wizard sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed James's guard. James has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wizard is working away from the top position though. Wizard is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but James still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, James has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Is it all over??? No! James has escaped and now he's on top! Wizard is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst James is controlling him. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Wizard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. James swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wizard drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wizard jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
