2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mark Sykes! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sykes has managed to clinch.
The Razor being controlled against the cage. The Razor blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Sykes lands with a right to the head. Sykes is leaning against The Razor and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Sykes throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. A frustrated look appears on The Razor's face as he tries to break the clinch. Sykes told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Sykes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The Razor throws a series of punches but Sykes moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The Razor swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sykes throws a head kick that misses. Joey The Razor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sykes wants to clinch but The Razor slips to the side and The Razor counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sykes thinking. The Razor comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Razor throws a sloppy head kick and Sykes moves out of range easily. A head kick misses from The Razor. Sykes closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Sykes lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down The Razor. Sykes lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Sykes stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. The Razor is breathing heavily. Sykes lands on the inside with an uppercut. Sykes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sykes with a nice cross.
It looks like Joey The Razor has been cut. Sykes thows a body kick. The Razor tries to catch it but that hurt him. Sykes throws a sloppy head kick letting The Razor counter with a right hand. Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Sykes throws an absolute beast of a head kick! The Razor is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mark Sykes! Mark Sykes bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it. The defeated Joey The Razor had this to say: 'Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.....'.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some bone on bone action there as Hastings checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Hastings swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sexyton attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Sexyton tries to land a front kick but Hastings steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Sexyton throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Hastings on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sexyton. Sexyton obviously looking to wear him down.

Hastings has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Hastings cracks Sexyton with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Hastings takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Jones closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Armstrong breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jones throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Joe Armstrong has been cut. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Armstrong crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jones - the referee stops the clock and Armstrong gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jones.
