Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nissen takes the fight into the clinch.
Nissen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Faso is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Nissen is looking to take this one to the mat.

Faso has picked Nissen up - he's going for a ride! Faso dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Faso is looking to take a break and control but Nissen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Faso is pressed up against the cage. Nissen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Faso down to the mat. Faso avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Nissen is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Faso still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Faso has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Well Faso has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

A big right from Aguete misses.
Aguete looks to land a combination but Patton avoids it well.
Aguete avoids a punch combination nicely.
Patton throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Aguete.
Patton fails to land with a series of punches.
Aguete lands with a hook. Patton tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Aguete fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Patton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Patton has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like George Patton has been cut.
Aguete definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Aguete looks to land a combination. Patton sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Patton throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Aguete counters with a stiff right hand.
Aguete goes for a small jab and connects. Now Aguete goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Patton stumbles back but Aguete runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Patton to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Patton will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Sherk turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Sherk avoids the head kick by Bob.
Sherk looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Sherk gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Bob regains guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kenzie enables Maeda to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kenzie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
My spies in Brazilian Elite Team inform me that Maeda has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
