0 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zalmai Qazi! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Qazi tries to clinch up. Qazi tries to clinch but Laprise moves away and Laprise counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Laprise frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Laprise jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Qazi manages to avoid the submission attempt. Laprise has hold of Qazi's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Qazi seems comfortable defending it but Laprise has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Qazi is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Qazi is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Laprise couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Pierre Laprise! During a confident post fight interview, Pierre Laprise thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.

7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jed Paul! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paul takes a swing at Caesar's ribcage but misses. Caesar attempts a counter takedown but Paul avoids it well and moves away. Paul throws a series of punches but Caesar avoids them all with ease. Paul lands a slapping body shot.
Paul misses the shot to the body. Paul has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Paul looks to land a body kick but Caesar moved away. Paul feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Caesar seems keen to control Paul's posture. Caesar has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Paul trying to control but Caesar is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paul trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Paul throws a big elbow that misses. Caesar lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Paul has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Caesar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Caesar throws an elbow that misses. Paul uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Caesar's guard. Nice move by Paul! Caesar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Paul's guard. Caesar looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Caesar preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Caesar wants to pass the guard but Paul is keeping the position. Caesar is stalling in the full guard. Caesar sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Paul's guard. Caesar moves nicely into side control. Paul is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Caesar tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Caesar in side control, just content to control the action for now. Caesar trying to control the action but Paul is working from the bottom. Paul wants to get back to his feet but Caesar drags him back down.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Caesar in side control lands a decent elbow. Paul is trying to get back to his feet. Caesar is looking to take a break and control but Paul is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Caesar advances to mount. Caesar working the ground and pound effectively.
Caesar controlling his opponent. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Caesar avoids the attempt from Paul to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Alberto Caesar will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Paul has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Paul is looking for a kimura but Caesar is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Paul to get the leverage. Caesar controlling the position well. Caesar is refusing to be controlled, as Paul sits in half guard. Paul is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Caesar makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Caesar. Caesar is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Caesar lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Caesar pushes down on Paul's leg and manages to get into half guard. Paul blocking the ground and pound attempt from Caesar. Caesar takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Paul is looking to escape. Caesar content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Caesar working over Paul with some ground and pound. Paul looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Paul really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Caesar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Caesar wants to free his trapped foot but Paul is holding on for dear life with his legs. Caesar is looking to pass Paul's guard but actually Paul recovers to full guard. Caesar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Caesar advances to half guard. Caesar passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Paul! Paul takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Caesar punishing his opponent with strikes. Caesar scores with a couple of good head shots there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Paul in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ward fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zhu sprawls well initially but Ward persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Zhu tries to get to full guard but Ward has control of the leg. Zhu taking some punishment here, with Ward in his half guard. Zhu is looking for a sweep. Ward is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ward is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Zhu wants to hold on but Ward pushes him away. Zhu sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Zhu is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ward pulls his head out easily. Zhu felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ward is trying for a kimura here. Zhu looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Ward wins by kimura!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilhelm feints and then cracks Brown's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Brown down. Brown takes a kick to the side of the head.
It looks like John Brown has been cut. Wilhelm lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Wilhelm just misses with a punch to the body.
Brown seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. A low kick from Wilhelm is predictable there and Brown counters with a single leg into guard. Wilhelm didn't expect that. Brown stops Wilhelm from standing up. Brown works over Wilhelm with some ground and pound from guard. Wilhelm looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Wilhelm avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Brown is working Wilhelm over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Brown trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Wilhelm misses with a low kick. Brown misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wilhelm throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Wilhelm. Brown shrugs it off though. Brown throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wilhelm's waist but Wilhelm gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brown off to one side. Wilhelm throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. A head kick from Wilhelm lands but Brown takes it in his stride. Brown slips a jab from Wilhelm. Brown tries to counter with a takedown but Wilhelm is quick to defend against it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilhelm leaves Brown with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wilhelm fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Brown has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Wilhelm slaps away a takedown attempt from Brown, before circling back to the center of the mat. Brown has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Wilhelm. Brown avoids the head kick by Wilhelm.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Wilhelm. Wilhelm throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Wilhelm explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Wilhelm with a hook. Wilhelm fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Brown. Brown fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wilhelm avoids it really well and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wilhelm is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brown postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Wilhelm in real trouble here! The ref calls for Wilhelm to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Solid tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Shula is looking to counter punch. Solid connects with a solid leg kick. Solid turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Solid attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Solid scoring well with a low kick there.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A little feinted left hand from Shula on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Solid goes for a high kick. It partially lands. An attempted straight right counter from Shula misses the target. Solid dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Shula. That did some damage! Pentti feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Terriers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Terrier definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Pentti lands with a big left! Terrier is wobbled badly! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves throws a leg kick but Pot sees it coming and moves out of range. Pot ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Alves misses with a looping left. Alves is looking to chop away at Pot's legs. Pot throws a counter combo. Pot darts in looking for a takedown but Alves gets double underhooks and turns Pot into the cage. As Pot tries to get set, Alves tries to push him back and clinch up but Pot manages to avoid the attempt. Alves lands with a hook. Pot tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Pot fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alves avoids it really well and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A slapping body kick lands there for Alves. A momentary lapse in concentration from Alves enables Pot to shoot in and score with a neat double leg.
