The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Locke moves forwards but Masseria connects with a nice, crisp jab.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Locke has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Nice defenses there by Masseria.
Masseria defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Locke.
Masseria was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Masseria keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

We've been told by Masseria's head coaches at Intelligent Design that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Masseria connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knott throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pop is looking to counter punch.

Knott shoots in and gets a takedown into Pop's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Knott forces his way into half guard.
Pop wants to get back to full guard.
Knott is trying to control the action in half guard but Pop is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
