The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cade tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pena was well out of range. Poor timing from Cade.
Nice defenses there by Cade.
Cade throws a hook but Pena blocks it.
Cade displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pena throws out the jab.
Pena throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Cade swings for the body but Pena moves out of range.
As Cade backs off Pena throws a huge counter combo but Cade manages to avoid it all.
A combination from Pena does no damage.
Pena on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Cade. Cade obviously looking to wear him down.

Cade moves in looking to clinch but Pena pushes him off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cade shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pena's guard.

Smith comes to the cage accompanied by The Mercenary. Slyker is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: It's Amazing by Kanye West. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Undercard bout

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Stoned (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clint Pereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stoned kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Dr. Dre - The Watcher. Pereira has chosen K5 - Lovin' Feelin' as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Clint Pereira told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!
