Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sylvester Dodd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Billy Wallace told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sylvester Dodd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Billy Wallace! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dodd takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Wallace is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dodd. Wallace swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Dodd moves out of range of the strikes. Dodd misses with a body shot.
Dodd avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Dodd misses with an uppercut. Wallace saw that one coming. Wallace scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Wallace falls off balance throwing a combination
and Dodd counters with a three punch combo that has Wallace backing up. Wallace nods at Dodd to acknowledge the strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wallace loads up on a big right hand but Dodd slips the punch. Wallace keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dodd. Dodd looks to throw the jab but Wallace is out of range. Dodd takes a shot right to the bread basket.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dodd misses with a lunging right hand
and Wallace counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Dodd uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wallace. Wallace misses with a few strikes there.
Wallace sizes up Dodd with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Wallace looks to land a right hand but Dodd moved out of range. Dodd lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Wallace counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Wallace throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Wallace misses with a body shot
letting Dodd counter with a right hand. Wallace uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dodd. Dodd gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Wallace. Wallace misses with a hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wallace misses with a hook. Dodd ducked under it nicely. Dodd moves out of range of the strikes. Dodd waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Wallace. Billy Wallace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wallace throws a big shot that misses. Wallace throws a lazy uppercut
and Dodd moves into the clinch. Wallace has had enough of the clinch but Dodd keeps him there for the moment. Dodd digs a right hand into Wallace's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Wallace's gas tank. Dodd presses Wallace against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Dodd scores with a hook to the body. Wallace looking to slow down the pace here. Dodd digs a right hand underneath Wallace's ribcage. Wallace let out a lung full of air as it connected. A short left from Dodd. A nice left hand lands by Dodd.
Dodd presses Wallace against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Dodd lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Wallace lands with a short shot to the head. Wallace is trying to break the clinch but Dodd is controlling him. Dodd scores with a nice hook to the head. Dodd lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Wallace misses with a punch on the inside.
Dodd lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Wallace backwards. Wallace is trying to break the clinch but Dodd has him pressed against the cage. Wallace tries to throw a body punch but Dodd avoids it by throwing Wallace back against the cage. Dodd lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Wallace. Wallace takes a shot to the head. Wallace can't break the clinch.
Dodd lands an uppercut. Dodd lands on the inside with an uppercut. A short right hand to the side of the head by Dodd. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dodd lands a right hand that snaps the head of Wallace backwards. A left hand lands to the body for Dodd.
Wallace takes a shot to the head. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dodd creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A nice left hand lands by Dodd.
Dodd pushes Wallace back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. A frustrated look appears on Wallace's face as he tries to break the clinch. Wallace misses with a hook from the clinch. Dodd scores with a nice hook to the head.
Wallace is rocked! A short uppercut from Dodd. Wallace is still on wobbly legs! Can Dodd finish him? Dodd leaning against his opponent.
Dodd lands a shot to the body. Wallace looks winded! Dodd scores with a hook to the body. A short right hand to the side of the head by Dodd. Dodd cracks Wallace with a nice body shot. Dodd softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Wallace tries to break free but Dodd pushes him back against the cage. Dodd working some nice short punches in the clinch. Dodd creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Wallace with a big uppercut! Wallace tries to clinch up but Dodd pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Wallace to the mat! Wallace covers up and Dodd unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Sylvester Dodd! Our winner, Sylvester Dodd, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.

Bergman slips a jab and a cross from Kabala.
Kabala tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bergman counters by moving into the clinch. Bergman gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kabala wants to control but Bergman is keeping busy and won't allow it. Kabala is trying to stand.
Bergman controlling the action here. Kabala wants to improve his position but Bergman is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kabala won't allow Bergman to pass to mount. Bergman is thwarting Kabala's attempts to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bergman seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Bergman is pressing down on Kabala's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kabala is holding on for now. Kabala is trying is best to control the position here. Bergman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kabala's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kabala trying to control from the bottom.
Kabala is in trouble now - Bergman has advanced to mount! Bergman trying to control but he's not successful this time. Bergman landing strikes from the mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bergman prevents Kabala from getting the reversal. Bergman landing strikes, looking to finish! Bergman landing shots from mount. Bergman with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The referee warns Kabala that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Kabala throws a strike from the bottom but Bergman uses the opportunity to take his back. Bergman trying to control momentarily.

Can Kabala hold on?! Bergman is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Kabala turns into Bergman and is now in his guard.
Kabala won't allow Bergman to sweep him here. Bergman has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kabala is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Bergman. Bergman is looking for a sweep. Kabala trying to control the position but Bergman is working away. Kabala stands up and we're back to a striking position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Saul Bergman dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kabala closes the distance but Bergman moves to the side and Bergman counters with a single leg into guard. Kabala didn't expect that. Bergman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kabala lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kabala stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bergman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bergman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kabala can do to turn this around? Bergman keeping moving, preventing Kabala from controlling successfully. Kabala trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kabala trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kabala throws an elbow that misses. Bergman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kabala's guard. Nice move by Bergman!
Kabala is looking for a triangle but Bergman pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bergman lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Bergman tries to free his leg and advance position but Kabala is retaining full guard. Kabala tries to strike from the bottom.
Bergman trying to control the position from guard on top but Kabala is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kabala is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bergman is aware though and is defending well. Bergman pushing down on Kabala's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Bergman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kabala with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bergman wants to free his trapped foot but Kabala is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Bergman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kabala is just riding it out for now. Bergman eventually gives up the hold. Bergman trying to mount his opponent but Kabala defends it. Bergman thows a huge punch but Kabala dodges it nicely.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bergman connects with a looping right hand.
Kabala darts in looking for a takedown but Bergman gets double underhooks and turns Kabala into the cage. Bergman lands a hook to the side of the head. Bergman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bergman dives in for a single leg takedown but Kabala sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Bergman lands with a right to the head. Kabala lands a takedown into guard.
Bergman wants to sweep here but Kabala controlling him for the moment. Bergman working a defensive guard here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kabala wants to control from the top but Bergman keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Saul Bergman dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Kabala gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bergman to score an easy takedown into full guard. Kabala has momentary wrist control but Bergman slips an elbow through the middle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bergman prevents Kabala from getting back to his feet. Bergman wants to control from the top but Kabala keeps moving. Kabala looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bergman is one step ahead there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bergman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bergman's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Kabala wants to get back to his feet but Bergman is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Saul Bergman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bergman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kabala swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kabala fails in his attempt to clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Bergman looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kabala has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Bergman. Bergman scoring well with a low kick there.
Bergman changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Kabala shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Kabala lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bergman circles away quickly and effectively.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Kabala. Bergman gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kabala to score an easy takedown into full guard. Kabala takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Bergman is trying to control the position but Kabala postures up. Bergman is controlling Kabala's posture. Bergman trying to keep a closed guard but Kabala is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Bergman throws a big shot that misses. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bergman punishes Kabala's body with a nice straight punch. Bergman lands with a right hand. Yoshi Kabala has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bergman connects with a nice looking jab.
And that's the end of the fight! Saul Bergman showed his dominance in that final round. Well Bergman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
