Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Leben defends well and James ends up having to push Leben into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Leben stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

James looks for a takedown but Leben sprawls well.

James dives in and grabs Leben's left leg, looking for a takedown. Leben pushes down on James's head and hops out.

James changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Leben tries to avoid it but James manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Leben to the ground. Leben escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

James shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Leben sprawls well. Leben wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. James gets slowly back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

James throws a right and a left that Leben avoids nicely.
Leben moves in looking to clinch but James pushes him off.
Horrible takedown attempt by James or perhaps it was just good defense by Leben, which made it look bad.

James shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Leben as he avoids it easily.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leben lands a big head kick that sends James tumbling to the mat! Leben takes a step backwards and waves James back to his feet - he wants the finish!

James is rocked!

It looks like David James has been cut.
James backs away from a small jab... but Leben lunges forward with a huge superman punch! James crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Leben with a spectacular finish!

Kane drops down looking for a counter takedown but Hrolf sprawls and moves away.
Kane sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Hrolf checks a leg kick.
Kane has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Hrolf lands a left and a right that sends Kane crashing to the canvas! Hrolf dives into mount looking to finish!

It looks like Merrick Kane has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hrolf throwing strikes here but Kane is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
