The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Watis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kurniawan, pushing him back against the cage.
Watis tries a knee to the head but Kurniawan blocks it.
Watis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Watis lands an elbow inside.
Watis with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Kurniawan has picked Watis up - he's going for a ride! Kurniawan dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Watis is trying to stand.
Kurniawan works his foot free and advances to mount.

Kurniawan has hold of Watis's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Watis manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kurniawan seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Watis is holding on tight.

Watis has left one of his arms exposed and Kurniawan doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Watis screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cortazar pinned against the cage. Cortazar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cortazar feinted with a counter takedown.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cortazar.
Richards stuffs the takedown.
Richards tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cortazar defends well and Richards ends up having to push Cortazar into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Richards looks to land a combination. Cortazar sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Richards bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cortazar's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Richards accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Richards must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Richards is striking but Cortazar is not phased and passes to half guard.

Cortazar is looking for a kimura but Richards is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cortazar to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cortazar is trying to control. Richards wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That was a close round but I would say that Julio Cortazar will probably get the nod.

Mingo lands with a big right hook that stumbles Royal - he's out on his feet here! Mingo follows up with another monster hook that separates Royal from consciousness! Royal falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Mingo stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Jawetz lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
A punch lands to the side of Jawetz 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Jawetz takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Mcginty batters Jawetz with a massive right followed by a huge left! Jawetz is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Mcginty lands a final crushing right hand to drop Jawetz to the mat with a gruesome thud! Mcginty is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!

We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Bebeto looking to score a takedown here. Gracie is defending well but Bebeto drives through and ends up in Gracie 's guard.
Bebeto is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bebeto wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.

Gracie is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bebeto is aware though and is defending well.
Bebeto is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bebeto doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bebeto manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bebeto has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
