The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whitehope looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. We've been hearing reports that Gaunov has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kantemir Gaunov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kumerlee makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. A head punch blocked on the inside by Gaunov. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kumerlee has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Kumerlee throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gaunovs head. A head punch on the inside from Kumerlee fails to land. A nice left hand lands by Kumerlee.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gaunov has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kumerlee finds it's way round the side to connect with Gaunov's head. Kumerlee scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Gaunov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kumerlee but Kumerlee pushes him off and we're back to square one. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gaunov is defended easily by Kumerlee. A jab from Kumerlee finds it's way through Gaunov's defenses. Kumerlee has Gaunov up against the cage in a clinch.

Saadiev throws a shot from downtown. Barca moves away and avoids it. Saadiev throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. A big left from Barca misses. Barca tries a low kick but Saadiev avoids it. Saadiev throws a series of punches but Barca avoids them all with ease. Barca lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Saadiev looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Barca definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Barca scores with a punch to the head. Barca jabs Saadiev to the body, keeping him at a distance. Barca throws a combination that misses and Saadiev counters with a stiff right hand. Nice straight punches there by Barca. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Barca. Saadiev throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Barca throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Saadiev makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Saadiev throws the left hand but Barca avoids the punch easily. A combination from Saadiev does no damage. Sloppy strikes from Saadiev. Those never looked like landing. That was a close round but I would say that Hannibal Barca will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Back to the action!

Saadiev throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Saadiev checks a leg kick. Barca ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Saadiev moves away. Saadiev misses with a straight left. Saadiev throws a right hand that misses
and Barca counters with an inside leg kick. Barca takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Saadiev throws a right and a left that Barca avoids nicely. Saadiev just misses with a punch to the body.
Hannibal Barca is winning the standup battle so far. Barca misses with a combination
letting Saadiev counter with a right hand. Barca throws a lazy right hand but Saadiev sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Saadiev looks to land a combination but Barca avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saadiev slips a jab and a cross from Barca.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Saadiev! But no joy. Saadiev rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Barca counter with a right hand. Barca takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Barca throws a low kick but it's checked well by Saadiev. Saadiev rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Barca connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hannibal Barca is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Barca scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Saadiev ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Barca misses with a body shot.

The cut above Dmitry Saadiev's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Barca lands a nice looking body shot.
Barca fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Barca uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Saadiev. Barca swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Saadiev takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Saadiev takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Barca with a jab. Saadiev throws a nice looking combination but Barca bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Barca swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Barca walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Saadiev drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Barca swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Saadiev's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Hardon Jr's coaches at Restricted area have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cousteau slips a straight right by Murray. Cousteau looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Cousteau throws a big shot that misses. Murray swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Murray cracks Cousteau with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Murray keeps the fight on the outside. Despite the aggression on Murray's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Cousteau throws a body punch but Murray moves out of range. Murray dips to his left and cracks Cousteau with an uppercut! Cousteau goes for a double leg but Murray avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Murray continues to drive forward. Cousteau staying out of range there. Cousteau ducks under a wild hook from Murray. Cousteau displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Murray throws out the jab.
