The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jack swings away with a body shot that misses
and Barrett cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Barrett slips under a jab. Jack throws a lazy uppercut
and Barrett counters with a good low kick that Jack was not able to check. Jack swings widly with a right hand
and Barrett counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That has opened up Jordan Jack's cut even more. Jack misses with a looping left. Jack scores with a takedown into Barrett's guard. Jack in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Jack stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Jack has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Jack rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

enabling Barrett to counter with a crisp jab. Barrett uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jack. Barrett lands a really nice looking cross but Jack seems unphased.

Barrett cracks Jack with an open hand slap. This has been an exciting period of action! Jack cracks Barrett with a good jab. Jordan Jack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barrett uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jack. It looked like Barrett wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Ekart is keen to just control but Haraldsson is a slippery customer. Ekart lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Ekart is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Ekart slips a nice elbow through Haraldsson's hands, connecting with Haraldsson's forehead. Ekart looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Ekart working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Ekart is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Haraldsson can do to turn this around? Ekart uses his free foot to push down on Haraldsson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Haraldsson. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A nice elbow there by Ekart. Ekart is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Haraldsson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Ekart wants to finish this one by submission but Haraldsson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ekart. Ekart has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ekart has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Haraldsson's face.
