The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn keeps the fight on the outside. Timmons scores with a kick to the body.

Timmons staying out of range there. Timmons unleashes a big counter combination but Penn bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Penn misses with a left hand and Timmons counters with a one-two to the body. Timmons throws a sloppy head kick and Penn moves out of range easily. Timmons fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Sloppy strikes from Timmons. Those never looked like landing. Timmons throws a sloppy head kick and Penn moves out of range easily. Penn bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Nate Timmons is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Timmons throws a head kick that misses. Penn stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Timmons. Timmons misses with a series of wild punches.
Penn throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Timmons was covering up waiting for the punch and Penn finishes the takedown easily into guard. Penn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Penn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Penn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Penn advances to half guard. Timmons is looking to control Penn's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Timmons avoid being mounted? Timmons really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Penn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Timmons is defending against the submission attempts here by Penn.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Penn is keen to just control but Timmons is a slippery customer. Penn is looking to advance position but Timmons won't allow it. Timmons has his hands clasped together around Penn's back. He's all about the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Penn passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Timmons! Penn misses with a head shot. Penn postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Timmons looks a forlorn figure.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Timmons is squirming around, avoiding Penn's attempts to control the action. It looked like Penn wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Timmons scores with a head kick. Penn tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like James Penn has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Penn takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Penn jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Penn connects with a good right hand that stumbles Timmons. Timmons circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Timmons takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Nate Timmons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Penn misses with a low kick as Timmons jumps back. A head kick misses from Timmons. Penn is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Timmons slips under a jab. Timmons ducks under a wild hook from Penn.

And that's the end of the fight! James Penn showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Penn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jenkins fails to land the takedown. Mayhem will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Mayhem connects with an inside leg kick. Mayhem attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Jenkins slips a straight right by Mayhem. Jenkins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mayhem tries to avoid it but Jenkins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mayhem to the ground. Mayhem escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's better than Tuilagi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! This has been an exciting period of action! Tuilagi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Benton, who protects the arm well. Sloppy strikes there by Tuilagi.
