6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Abel Trujillo! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trujillo closes the distance looking to clinch so Halldorsson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Halldorsson won't allow Trujillo to get back to his feet. Halldorsson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Trujillo's guard. Halldorsson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Trujillo tries to kick Halldorsson off but Halldorsson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Trujillo manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Halldorsson keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the ropes. A knee to the head by Trujillo.

Halldorsson passes Trujillo's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trujillo is staying active underneath Halldorsson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Trujillo is looking to escape. Halldorsson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Trujillo! Halldorsson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Trujillo is on top in guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Trujillo uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Trujillo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. I was talking to Halldorsson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Trujillo scores with a knee to the head.
Come on Trujillo - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Abel Trujillo! A very excited looking Abel Trujillo rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

Hendricks sizes up Ortiz with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Hendricks bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action!
