The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nikiel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A nice side step and Armo releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Armo throws a sloppy head kick and Nikiel moves out of range easily. Nikiel misses with a body shot.

Nikiel misses with an uppercut. Armo saw that one coming. Nikiel lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
It looks like Raju Armo has been cut. Nikiel drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Armo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nikiel throws a nice looking combination but Armo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nikiel drops Armo with a beautiful combination! Armo stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Nikiel is looking for the KO! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Armo lands with a kick to the temple. Nikiel shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Nikiel misses the jab. A punch combination from Nikiel misses. Nikiel misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Armo throws a fast counter high kick but Nikiel manages to duck under it in time. Nikiel looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Nikiel pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Armo drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Nikiel defends it well. Armo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nikiel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Armo.

Armo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Nikiel stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Armo scores with a shot to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Armo closes the distance and lands a one-two. Mariusz Nikiel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nikiel's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Armo connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Nikiel scrambles back to his feet. Armo jabs at Nikiel's body. Nikiel on the wrong end of a nice hook. A head kick from Armo lands but Nikiel takes it in his stride.
Nikiel is rocked! Armo lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Nikiel is looking to close the distance but Armo sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Nikiel crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Nikiel is OK because that was naaaaaasty!

Raju Armo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bennett throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mifune. Mifune will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Nice takedown defense from Bennett. No joy for Mifune on that attempt. Bennett replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Mifune blocks it well. Mifune shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Mifune is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Bennett is looking to control Mifune's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bennett avoid being mounted? Mifune sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bennett defending well though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mifune is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steiner shoots for a double leg takedown but Gennero sprawls well. He's pushed Steiner's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Gennero keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
It looks like Ricky Steiner has been cut. Gennero connects with a right hand. Steiner shakes it off. Gennero connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Gennero misses with a wild combination.
Steiner shoots in but no luck this time. Gennero moves into range and clinches up with Steiner. Gennero lands with a light punch inside. Gennero tries a body shot but Steiner blocks it.

It seemed like Rekis was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Leonov. Rekis shrugs it off though. Rekis gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. That kick from Leonov tenderised Rekis's leg. Rekis is trying to keep his angry face on. Leonov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Rekis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Rekis missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Rekis is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Leonov reverses the position - he's now on top in Rekis's guard. Rekis told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Leonov stopping the sweep attempt from Rekis. Leonov passes Rekis's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Leonov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rekis is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Leonov, into his guard. Leonov scores with a spinning back kick! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Leonov tries to score with a low kick but Rekis moves his leg out of the way. Rekis is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Rekis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Leonov tries to avoid it but Rekis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Leonov to the ground. Leonov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Yuri Leonov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Rekis. Leonov misses with a leg kick. Leonov throws a chopping leg kick but Rekis manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Rekis is trying hard to land a takedown here. Leonov sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A thudding body kick lands there by Leonov!

A nice side step and Rekis releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Rekis gets the takedown into side control. Rekis tries to score with some ground and pound. Leonov controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Leonov manages to get back to half guard. Leonov keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rekis stalling away here and it's allowed Leonov to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Oh, the punch misses and Leonov has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Rekis manages to get his head free but now Leonov has transitioned to an armbar! Rekis grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Leonov! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
