Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Floyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roddy Piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piper has chosen Green Hills of Tyrol as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Roddy Piper was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Floyd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roddy Piper! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from Floyd misses. Piper missing with a left hand there. Floyd was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A telegraphed right hand from Piper misses the target. Piper throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Floyd fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Piper's corner calls for a 1-2. Piper obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. A solid leg kick lands there for Floyd.
Piper moves into range and clinches up with Floyd. A frustrated look appears on Floyd's face as he tries to break the clinch. Floyd takes a shot to the head. A short right from Floyd. Floyd lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Piper or not. Floyd misses with a punch to the body.

We've been told by Floyd's head coaches at Victory Gym and Spa that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Floyd lands a front kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Piper throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Floyd sees it coming and avoids it easily. Floyd fires out a quick counter leg kick but Piper just manages to avoid it. Floyd looks to score with a jab to the body but Piper is just out of range. Piper looks like he wants to counter punch here. Floyd on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Floyd on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
A big right from Piper misses. Floyd throws a right and a left that Piper avoids nicely. Piper looks like he wants to counter punch here. Piper throws a shot from downtown. Floyd moves away and avoids it. Piper swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Floyd throws a hook to the side of Piper's head but Piper sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Piper on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Piper gets a takedown into half guard. Floyd wants to get back to full guard. Floyd avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Piper.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Piper moves nicely into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Floyd is trying to control Piper's posture but Piper avoids it. Floyd is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Piper thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Piper thows a huge punch but Floyd dodges it nicely.
The fighters are battling for position here. Floyd manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Floyd is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Piper throws an elbow that misses. Floyd uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Piper's guard. Nice move by Floyd! Piper wants to sweep here but Floyd controlling him for the moment.

Piper tries to land a sweep but no joy. Floyd trying to control the position from guard on top but Piper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Floyd would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Floyd seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Floyd trying to control but Piper is working from the bottom. That was a close round but I would say that John Floyd will probably get the nod. That's time! Floyd's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Floyd throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Piper looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. It looked like Floyd wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Piper bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Piper uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Piper keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Teimosia wants to control but Robinson is having none of it. Teimosia is controlling an arm, preventing Robinson from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Robinson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Teimosia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Teimosia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Teimosia passes easily into side control. Nice work. Robinson is not in a great position here, taking some shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Teimosia is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Robinson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Teimosia cracks Robinson with a big elbow. Robinson can't do much from the bottom here.

Quint scores with a three punch combo!
