The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sauvage scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Sauvage clinches with his opponent.
Carver goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Carver has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Sauvage clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Carver avoiding Sauvage 's attempts to control his hands. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sauvage is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Carver throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Carver looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Sauvage is controlling Carver 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Sauvage with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sauvage working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Carver looking for a guillotine here but Sauvage defends easily.

Oh but Carver is tightening it up a little... Sauvage has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Sauvage reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Sauvage taps out! Nice BJJ there by Carver!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bean throws a poor cross that misses
and Maxwell counters with a lovely shot to the body. Butter Bean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Maxwell avoids the body shot from Bean.
Maxwell changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Bean lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Bean jabbing away but nothing is landing. Maxwell on the wrong end of a nice hook. A slow jab from Maxwell misses its intended target. Bean wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Bean tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Maxwell was well out of range. Poor timing from Bean. It seemed like Maxwell was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Maxwell moves out of range as Bean strikes. Bean moves into the clinch. Maxwell makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Bean works on Maxwell's body with a couple of short punches. Maxwell misses with a hook from the clinch. Maxwell misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Bean.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Maxwell. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Maxwell misses with some punches.
Maxwell is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Maxwell tries for a takedown. No joy.

Maxwell lands a nice uppercut. Maxwell softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Maxwell scores with a shot to the side of Bean's head. Maxwell is looking to control Bean's arms but Bean gets an underhook and turns him. Now Maxwell has his back to the cage. Maxwell tries to stall but Bean uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Bean lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Maxwell. Maxwell looking for a takedown. Bean pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Maxwell throws a sloppy body shot
and Bean counters with a straight right hand. Maxwell ducks right into an uppercut from Bean. Bean really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Bean throws a wild combination but nothing lands. and Maxwell counters with a body kick that stops Bean in his tracks momentarily. Butter Bean is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jab, jab by Maxwell - just one landing. Maxwell swings for the body but Bean moves out of range.
Bean throws an overhand right that lands on Maxwell's shoulder, as Maxwell tries to avoid the shot. Nice uppercut lands for Bean. That snapped Maxwell's head back.
Bean throws out a powerful jab. Bean gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Maxwell in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maxwell trying to control but Bean is working from the bottom. Maxwell throwing strikes but missing. Maxwell trying to control the position from guard on top but Bean is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bean utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Bean controlling Maxwell's posture. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Maxwell postures up in Bean's guard and throws a big left but Bean blocks it.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bean connects with a single shot there. Bean moves into the clinch. Maxwell goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bean prevents it.
Butter Bean has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ross Maxwell. Maxwell drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bean pulls his leg out and moves away.
Bean clinches. Bean lands a nice uppercut. Bean breaks the clinch.
Bean scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Maxwell slips under a jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Butter Bean dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Maxwell throws a shot from downtown. Bean moves away and avoids it. Bean works Maxwell's body with a nice hook. Maxwell fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bean avoids it really well and circles away. Bean appears to be looking for a big counter. Bean moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Bean is looking to take this fight into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maxwell will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bean appears to be looking for a big counter. Maxwell does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Bean lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bean cracks Maxwell with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Nice uppercut lands for Bean. That snapped Maxwell's head back.
Maxwell throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Bean wants to clinch up but Maxwell keeps it at a distance. And Maxwell tries to counter it with a takedown but Bean pushes his down on his head and steps out. Good standup being displayed there by Maxwell as he connects with a hook.
It looks like Butter Bean has been cut. Bean checks the leg kick. Bean misses with a few strikes there.
A jab from Bean does it's job there. Maxwell circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bean connects with a body shot that sends Maxwell's belly button to the back. Maxwell shoots in but no luck this time. Bean takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Bean closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Maxwell is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Butter Bean has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ross Maxwell.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head punch blocked on the inside by Bean. Maxwell is working for takedown but Bean is calmly controlling the position for now. Maxwell tries a knee to the head but Bean blocks it.

Maxwell is breathing heavily. Maxwell is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bean gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Bean pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bean tries to clinch there but Maxwell circles away.
Maxwell looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bean connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Maxwell momentarily.

Maxwell is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bean can't fight it off and eventually Maxwell manages to take the fight to the floor. Bean looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Maxwell throws a big elbow that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bean is adopting a defensive guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bean is on top in guard.
Maxwell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bean trying to stand up but can't free himself from Maxwell's guard. Maxwell looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bean wants to stand but Maxwell has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bean wants to stand and escape but instead Maxwell has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Maxwell cracks Bean with a solid left hand. Bean keeping moving, preventing Maxwell from controlling successfully. Bean keeping full guard, as Maxwell tries to pass. Bean is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Maxwell can do to turn this around? Maxwell showing good wrestling skills to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Butter Bean dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Butter Bean's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Maxwell misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Bean counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Bean moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Maxwell takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. A left lands for Bean. Maxwell misses with a takedown attempt and Bean counters with a one-two to the body. Good work by Bean as he checks the leg kick. Bean scores with a jab. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Maxwell, as that shot connected.
Butter Bean is winning the standup battle so far. Maxwell closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bean quickly recovers to half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bean is looking to improve his position.

Maxwell is working away from the top position though. Maxwell is looking to stall here but Bean recovers full guard. Bean will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Maxwell trying to control but Bean is working from the bottom. Butter Bean is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The fight stays on the outside here - Maxwell looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Bean went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Bean is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Maxwell scores with a jab to the head.

And that's the end of the fight! Butter Bean showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bean, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown attempt by Akpreic or perhaps it was just good defense by Joaquin, which made it look bad. Joaquin's coach down at Cozad MMA Rio was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Joaquin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Joaquin looking to score a takedown here. Akpreic is defending well but Joaquin drives through and ends up in Akpreic's guard. Joaquin looking to pass the guard. Akpreic is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Joaquin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Joaquin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Joaquin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Akpreic swivels though and keeps the full guard. Akpreic escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Joaquin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akpreic looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Joaquin is defending well. Akpreic quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Joaquin has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Akpreic celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jonson lands with a right hand. Sloppy strikes from Jonson. Those never looked like landing. Jonson leaves Walters with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Walters crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jonson - the referee stops the clock and Walters gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jonson. Walters manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. A head kick misses from Jonson. Walters misses with a takedown attempt - Jonson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Walters is defended easily by Jonson. Jimmy Jonson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nicolas Walters. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No luck with that takedown attempt from Walters. Jonson is looking for a counter combo. Walters tries for a takedown but Jonson circles away easily and Jonson counters with a right hand to the body.

Walters tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jonson swivels and escapes. Walters fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Walters throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Walters gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jonson counters with a straight right hand. Walters is looking to clinch. Walters closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jonson to the mat! Jonson manages to get full guard. Jonson is trying to keep Walters in close.

Jonson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Walters puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Jonson has a hand on Walters's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Walters takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Walters looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Walters looking to isolate an arm here. Jonson doesn't see it coming and as Walters extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Walters!

Vasililiev is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Miyao is trying to pull guard but Vasililiev turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Miyao is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Vasililiev to keep the fight standing. Miyao tries to pull guard but Vasililiev holds him up against the cage and eventually Miyao drops back down to his feet.

Maeda trying to control the action but Palahnuik is working from the bottom. Palahnuik holds on to Maeda's head and controls the position momentarily.

We've been hearing good reports from Maeda's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Maeda wants to control but Palahnuik is keeping him busy. Maeda creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Palahnuik sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Maeda pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Palahnuik throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Maeda moves out of range as Palahnuik strikes. Maeda uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Palahnuik.
Maeda looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mitsuyo Maeda. That's going to take a lot out of him. Horrible takedown attempt by Maeda or perhaps it was just good defense by Palahnuik, which made it look bad. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Maeda. Maeda shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Palahnuik napping and manages to drive through into side control! Pete Palahnuik has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Maeda tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Palahnuik is trying to improve his position.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mitsuyo Maeda. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Maeda, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. He's backing up but Larsson isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Anthony from any more damage. A dominating finish by Larsson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spencer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Man sees it coming and avoids it easily. Spencer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Man swings for the body but Spencer moves out of range.
Spencer looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Man doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Man keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Spencer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Man tests Spencer's chin there with a solid looking shot. A lazy left from Spencer finds it's target. Spencer looks to throw the jab but Man is out of range. Man moves out of range as Spencer strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Man misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Spencer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Man throws a jab but it's blocked by Spencer. Man throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Spencer. Man getting the better of the striking in that exchange. A swing and a miss from Spencer. Spencer throws out a loose jab but Man uses good head movement to avoid it. Spencer stuns Man with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Spencer goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Spencer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Man moves away. Spencer throws out a powerful jab. Man uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Spencer. Man misses with an uppercut. Spencer with a jab. Spencer is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Man had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Man comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Man looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Man steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Spencer. A punch combination from Spencer misses. Man takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A lazy left from Spencer finds it's target. Man misses with an uppercut. Nice uppercut lands for Man. That snapped Spencer's head back.
Spencer looks to land a right hand but Man moved out of range. Spencer scores with a nice head shot. Spencer throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Man stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Spencer throws a lazy right hand but Man sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Man uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Spencer.
Man lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Man misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Man gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Spencer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spencer lands a jab to Man's midsection. Spencer misses the jab. It looked like Man wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Man will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Man defending well as Spencer loads up on a big left hand. Man appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Spencer misses with a lunging right hand
and Man counters with a left and a right that stings Spencer.
Spencer is rocked! Spencer swings for the body but Man moves out of range.
Spencer is still on wobbly legs! Can Man finish him? Man throws a nice looking combination but Spencer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Man lands a body shot.
Spencer seems to have recovered his senses. Man slips a straight right by Spencer. Man went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Man throws a wild combination but nothing lands. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Man throws a jab but it's blocked by Spencer. Man swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Man looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shawn Spencer dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Spencer lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Shawn Spencer seems to be getting the better of the standup. Spencer fails to land with a series of punches.
Man lands a jab to the head.
Man takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Man changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Spencer throws a body shot but no joy. Spencer has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Spencer scores with a jab. Man acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Man gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Man uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Spencer. A punch lands to the side of Man 's head but he takes it in his stride. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Man waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Spencer. Spencer looks like he wants to counter punch here. Man gets in close and tags Spencer with a short punch that almost sends Spencer to the mat! Oh Spencer is in big trouble! He turns his back on Man, trying to create some distance but Man rushes him, striking wildly and Spencer goes down! The referee tackles Man into the cage to end the fight! Man is one violent man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ice Man! Ice Man retains his welterweight title! Ice Man seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
