6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joseph Franck! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franck has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Franck there as he acknowledges the shot. Archer scores with a crisp jab that stopped Franck in his tracks. Archer has closed the distance and engaged Franck in a clinch.
Archer lands a right hand that snaps the head of Franck backwards.
It looks like Joseph Franck has been cut. I was talking to Archer's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Franck breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Archer throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Franck stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Donk. Archer catches Franck right on the button with a cross. Franck takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Archer just misses with a punch to the body.
Archer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Franck sees it coming and avoids it easily. Archer misses with an uppercut. Franck saw that one coming. Franck shoots in for a takedown and gets it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Archer has hold of Franck's hands but Franck slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Archer regains full guard. Nicely done. Archer trying to control the position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Archer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Archer keeping moving, preventing Franck from controlling successfully. Archer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Franck has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Archer keeping moving, preventing Franck from controlling successfully. You can see the frustration on Archer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Franck working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Check out the look on Franck's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. The ground and pound from Franck seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Archer is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Franck is controlling him well. Archer sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Franck is working for a kimura but Archer is defending it quite comfortably.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Archer lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Franck on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Archer misses the shot to the body. Franck shoots in but Archer avoids the takedown attempt easily. Franck takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Archer throws a right and a left that both miss. Archie Archer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Franck uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Archer. Franck is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Archer. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Franck slips a straight right by Archer. Franck with the counter takedown but Archer avoids it easily. A big right from Archer misses. Franck changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Archer scores with a nice strike. Archer scores with a punch to the head. Archer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Archer sprawls well initially but Franck persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Archer wants to control but Franck is keeping busy and won't allow it. Archer avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Franck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Archer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Franck is looking to take a break and control but Archer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Franck sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Archer defending well though. Joseph Franck has got the better of the ground game so far. Franck prevents Archer from standing back up.

It's a sloppy attempt though and Archer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Archer trying to control but Franck is working from the bottom. Franck has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Archer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Franck waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Archer.

Archer scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Archer looks to throw the jab but Franck is out of range. Franck drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Archer defends it well. Jab from Archer. A combination from Archer does no damage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Archer throws a hook to the side of Franck's head but Franck sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. And Franck tries to counter it with a takedown but Archer pushes his down on his head and steps out. Franck shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Archer but Archer pushes him off and we're back to square one. A swing and a miss from Archer. Franck shoots for a takedown but Archer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Archer scores with a punch to the head. Archer throws a looping overhand right but Franck ducks down to avoid it. Franck drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Franck trying to control the position but Archer is working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Archer can't do much from the bottom here. The ground and pound from Franck seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Archer is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Franck off and has taken his back! Franck can't escape the position.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Franck trying to control the position but Archer manages to sink in the hooks. Franck defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Archer's arms. Franck looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Franck looking very determined here, making life difficult for Archer.

Utley is still in real trouble! Can Knapp finish him? Utley is pulling down on Knapp's head to control his posture. Utley is working an open guard so Knapp takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Utley seems to have recovered his senses. Utley gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Knapp gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Utley is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Peter Knapp! Peter Knapp was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dallas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Walker. Dallas throws a right hand that Walker ducks under and follows up with a left that Walker also avoids with ease. Walker steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Dallas. Walker has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dallas finds it's way round the side to connect with Walker's head. Walker bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Walker slips under a jab. Walker changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Dallas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Walker moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Dallas keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Walker. Walker looks to score with a jab to the body but Dallas is just out of range. Walker scores with a crisp jab that stopped Dallas in his tracks. Dallas misses with a series of wild punches.
A little jabbing left from Walker on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Dallas steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Walker. Walker throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. That's one minute gone in the round. Walker connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Dallas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Walker. Dallas tries to clinch but fails miserably and Walker counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dallas is rocked! Walker cracks Dallas with a left hook right on the temple and Dallas goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Walker lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Dallas is OK!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jay Walker! Our winner, Jay Walker, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.

Mann is rocked! Smith lands with a short shot to the head. Oh Mann is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! A nice left hand lands by Smith.
Smith tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Mann's elbow. Smith is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Smith drops Mann onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Mann is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mann is pressed against the cage. Smith pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Mann! Two more big strikes from Smith and Mann crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!

Black connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Flint scores with a crisp jab that stopped Black in his tracks. Flint jabbing away but nothing is landing. Black misses with a looping right. Flint misses with a looping right. Flint lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Black circles away quickly and effectively. Flint dives in and grabs Black's left leg, looking for a takedown. Black pushes down on Flint's head and hops out. Black scores with the left hand. Flint knows he should have avoided that one. Flint moves away from the strike by Black. Black takes one to the side of the head.

Flint closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Black cracks Flint with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Flint looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Black finish him?

Will he be able to recover?!! Black is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Flint flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Flint is out cold! Black holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ciprut wants to land a leg kick but Rose is out of range. Rose throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ciprut tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rose is in Ciprut's guard. Rose wants to control from the top but Ciprut keeps moving. Ciprut working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rose. Rose drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ciprut dives on top into guard. Ciprut wants to stand and escape but instead Rose has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Su han tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control. Su han is not content to let Jones control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones sitting and controlling from the half guard. Jones is keen to just control but Su han is a slippery customer. Su han wants to get back to full guard. Jones is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Su han lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Jones tried to score with a low kick but Su han checks it. Su han swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Su han doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Su han tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jones lands a front kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Su han tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jones stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Su han has taken the fight to the clinch.
Su han wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Su han. Su han decides to pull guard. Su han is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Su han keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Jones landing with the ground and pound. Su han bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones is adopting a defensive guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Luke Jones will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jones cracks Su han with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Jones throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Su han pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch. Su han is trying to break the clinch but Jones has him pressed against the cage. Jones blocks a body shot from Su han. Su han gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jones.
Su han jumps guard and drags Jones to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Jones stopping the sweep attempt from Su han. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Su han not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jones scoring with some ground and pound. Jones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jones is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Jones trying to control but Su han is working from the bottom. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Su han is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Su han stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jones. Su han clinches with his opponent.
A short left from Jones. Su han tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Su han can't find room to land a body shot as Jones controls the action.
Su han tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
Su han tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Jones changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Jones dodges the punch combination from Su han.
Jones connects with a right hand. Su han shakes it off. Su han clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage. A short right from Jones on the inside. Su han turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Jones has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Su han. Oh but Jones has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Su han goes limp - he's gone! Jones jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Luke Jones! Luke Jones retains his lightweight title! After winning the bout, Luke Jones thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
