The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Crowley sprawls well. Crowley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cortes gets slowly back to his feet.

Crowley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Schlemper goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Murbaratchon has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Schlemper but great work by Murbaratchon.

Virtanen flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Behring anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Virtanen and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Behring slips an arm under Virtanen chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Behring has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Behring is squeezing on Virtanen like an anaconda would it's prey. Virtanen fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

In defeat, Aamu Virtanen stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'll be back'.

Hanga shoots for a double leg takedown but McCarthy sprawls well. He's pushed Hanga's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hanga will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hanga throws a series of punches but McCarthy moves out of range.
McCarthy slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Hanga throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McCarthy's waist but McCarthy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hanga off to one side.
Hanga looks winded!

McCarthy cracks Hanga with an uppercut from hell and Hanga crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of McCarthy's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
