Burns rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Black counters with a single leg into guard. Burns didn't expect that.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Black working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Black stands up over Burns, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Black is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Burns throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Burns is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Black defends well.
Burns thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Black engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

And Black tries to counter it with a takedown but Burns pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Burns, as that shot connected.
Burns fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Black has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Burns stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Burns looks to score with a jab to the body but Black is just out of range.

And Black tries to counter it with a takedown but Burns pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Burns fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Black, pushing him back against the cage.
Black tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Burns smiles and moves away.
Burns is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Black can do to turn this around?

Black has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Black loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Burns scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Black land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Black stands and salutes the crowd.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose catches Hadjiev with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

It looks like Valentin Hadjiev has been cut.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rose lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hadjiev has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hadjiev and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Hadjiev gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Rose.
Hadjiev fails with a takedown attempt.
Rose swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rose throws a nice outside leg kick.
Hadjiev on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
A combination from Rose does no damage.
Hadjiev closes the distance and clinches up with Rose, looking for a takedown. Hadjiev pushes Rose against the cage but Rose circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rose drops Hadjiev with a naaaaasty hook - Hadjiev is in real trouble here! Rose dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Lewis Scott! Lewis Scott retains his welterweight title!
After the fight, Lewis Scott was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Nathan Chambers was interviewed post fight and said 'My hat's off to him, he's a great fighter but he was the better fighter tonight. I'll be back. '.
