Martin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Summers's waist but Summers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martin off to one side.

Summers closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Martin's guard.
Summers is looking to stand up but Martin won't let him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Martin is working to tighten his grip on Summers's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Summers has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Martin is really squeezing tight and eventually Summers passes out! Martin breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beattie paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Beattie has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Eel ducks under a wild hook from Beattie.
Eel appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
No luck for Eel with that takedown attempt.

Beattie throws out a counter right but Eel avoids it with no problem.
