Wood feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We've been hearing reports that Pounds has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Mccarthy lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Mccarthy's coach down at Fokai Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Mccarthy's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Samoan feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Habels jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Habel goes for a double leg but Samoan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Samoan continues to drive forward.
A little feinted left hand from Samoan on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Samoan throws a body punch but Habel moves out of range.
Habel closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Habel might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Samoan has got the better of the exchanges.

BOOM! Samoan lands a beautiful left hook that drops Habel. Habel tries to recover but Samoan is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Habel lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
