1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jax Marciano! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Arthur Spigelman! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spigelman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marciano but Marciano pushes him off and we're back to square one. As Spigelman tries to get set, Marciano tries to push him back and clinch up but Spigelman manages to avoid the attempt. Spigelman defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Marciano. And Spigelman tries to counter it with a takedown but Marciano pushes his down on his head and steps out. Marciano tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Spigelman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Spigelman tries a quick counter leg kick but Marciano is wise to it. Marciano gets in close and instigates a clinch. Spigelman slowing the pace effectively. Marciano escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Marciano slips under a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marciano shoots for a takedown but Spigelman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Spigelman is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Marciano with a body shot. Marciano wants to clinch up but Spigelman keeps it at a distance. Spigelman leaves Marciano with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Spigelman throws out a counter right but Marciano avoids it with no problem. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jax Marciano. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marciano does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Marciano shoots in for a takedown but Spigelman shows good takedown defense. Spigelman punishes Marciano's body with a nice straight punch. Jax Marciano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Danga de danga de dang - Marciano scores with a four punch combination! Spigelman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Marciano throws a head kick but Spigelman moves out of range.
A little jabbing left from Spigelman on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Marciano tries to close the distance and clinch up but Spigelman swats him away and circles back towards the center. Spigelman looks like he wants to counter punch here. Marciano definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Marciano shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Spigelman but Spigelman pushes him off and we're back to square one. Spigelman feints the counter takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marciano looks to clinch and Spigelman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Marciano clinches. Marciano gets underhooks to prevent Spigelman's takedown attempt.
Spigelman tightens his grip and picks Marciano up, before dumping him to the ground. Marciano manages to land in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Spigelman won't allow Marciano to sweep him here. Spigelman trying to move into half guard but instead Marciano has managed to sweep! Spigelman wants to sweep but no luck. Spigelman wants to get back to his feet but Marciano passes into half guard.
Spigelman tries to roll over but Marciano keeps him under control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spigelman can do anything to dispel that myth. Spigelman looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spigelman tries to roll over but Marciano keeps him under control. Spigelman looking for submissions off his back. Spigelman tries to kick Marciano off but Marciano keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Marciano seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Spigelman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Marciano prevents Spigelman from improving his position. Spigelman looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Spigelman is doing well to control the position and prevent Marciano from advancing to side control. Spigelman wants to improve his position but Marciano is controlling well.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Marciano is thwarting Spigelman's attempts to control the position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Marciano tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Spigelman drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Marciano defends it well. Spigelman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Spigelman lands in his opponent's guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. Marciano manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Spigelman goes for a takedown attempt but Marciano pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jax Marciano will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Marciano tries to avoid it but Spigelman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Marciano to the ground. Marciano escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. No luck with that takedown attempt from Marciano. Marciano with a poor takedown and Spigelman counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Spigelman fails with a takedown attempt. Jax Marciano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arthur Spigelman. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marciano avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spigelman steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Marciano. That one must have hurt. Marciano changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Spigelman tries to avoid it but Marciano manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Spigelman to the ground. Spigelman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Spigelman circles away from the clinch attempt.

Spigelman only half commits to the counter leg kick. Jax Marciano is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Spigelman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Marciano. Marciano tries to clinch but Spigelman is having none of it. Spigelman throws out a counter right but Marciano avoids it with no problem. Spigelman is looking to clinch.

It seemed like Spigelman was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Marciano shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Spigelman sprawls well. Spigelman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Marciano gets slowly back to his feet. Spigelman looks like he wants to counter punch here. Marciano fails with a takedown attempt. Spigelman drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Marciano defends it well. Marciano displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Spigelman.

A nice side step and Spigelman releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Spigelman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Marciano tries to counter by clinching up but Spigelman breaks away and moves out of range. Spigelman shoots in looking for a takedown. Marciano tries to sprawl out of it but Spigelman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Marciano manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Left hook, right uppercut from Marciano. Marciano is looking to clinch but Spigelman is avoiding it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Spigelman. Marciano tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Spigelman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A looping hook to the body misses from Spigelman. Marciano does a little dance to reset his feet. Marciano tries to clinch but Spigelman moves out of range. Spigelman is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Marciano rather than just go for the knockout. Spigelman takes a body punch but keeps moving. Marciano misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A little jabbing left from Spigelman on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Spigelman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Marciano circles away. Spigelman on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Marciano. Marciano obviously looking to wear him down.

Marciano goes for a double leg but Spigelman avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Spigelman continues to drive forward. Spigelman with the counter takedown but Marciano avoids it easily. Spigelman misses with a straight right. Marciano throws a head kick but Spigelman moves out of range.

Spigelman tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Marciano throws a body shot but no joy. Marciano could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spigelman darts in looking for a takedown but Marciano gets double underhooks and turns Spigelman into the cage. Marciano throws a body shot but no joy. Spigelman looks to throw the jab but Marciano is out of range. Marciano is looking to counter the offense by Spigelman and move into the clinch. Marciano will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jax Marciano is winning the standup battle so far. Marciano fails to land with a series of punches.
Marciano is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Spigelman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Marciano as he jumps to the side.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spigelman pushes Marciano up against the cage in a clinch. Marciano gets control of Spigelman's arms and successfully pulls guard. Marciano will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Spigelman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Marciano avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spigelman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spigelman looking to sit in guard and control but Marciano gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Spigelman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Marciano might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Marciano won't allow Spigelman to sweep him here. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Spigelman holds on and takes a little breather. Spigelman wants to stand up but Marciano is controlling him. Spigelman is pulling down on Marciano's head. It's preventing any offense from Marciano, at least for the moment. Spigelman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Spigelman keeping moving, preventing Marciano from controlling successfully.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Marciano tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Spigelman defends well and Marciano ends up having to push Spigelman into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Spigelman drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Marciano defends it well. Good work by Spigelman as he checks the leg kick. Spigelman is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Marciano misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Spigelman goes for a double leg but Marciano avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Marciano continues to drive forward. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jax Marciano. Well Marciano has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice jab there from Hardy. Way doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hardy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hardy seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Way is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hardy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Hardy thows a left - swing and a miss! Way tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Hardy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hardy works over Way's head and body with a nice combination. Hardy looks to land a combination. Way sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like No Way has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hardy scores with a nice strike. Hardy clobbers Way with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Way is rocked! Hardy closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Way! Hardy dives in looking to finish! Way is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Perez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Hagar darts in looking for a takedown but Perez gets double underhooks and turns Hagar into the cage. He's got his arms around Hagar's waist but Hagar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Perez off to one side. Hagar throws a low kick but Perez moves out of range easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Perez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hagar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Hagar shoots in for a double leg but Perez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Perez has closed the distance and engaged Hagar in a clinch.
Perez jumps guard but Hagar stands there with Perez around his waist. Perez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Hagar has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Perez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Hagar avoiding damage as Perez throws knees to the body.

And that's the end of the fight! Modus Ponens comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ponens has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Mike Loser had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Loser shoots in for a takedown but Palma shows good takedown defense. Nice takedown defense from Palma. No joy for Loser on that attempt. Loser darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Palma looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Loser trying to pass the guard but Palma defending well. Palma tries to roll over but Loser keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Loser is looking to take a break and control but Palma is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Loser is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Palma is just riding it out for now. Loser eventually gives up the hold. Palma looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Render feints and as Carter raises his hands in defense, Render changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Render postures up in Carter's guard and throws a big left but Carter blocks it. Carter really is a fat lump. Render stopping the sweep attempt from Carter. Render stops Carter from standing up. Carter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Render working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Render postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Render stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Carter has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Render manages to get his head free but now Carter has transitioned to an armbar! Render grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Carter! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
