3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Jones! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Eddie Farnsworth and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Jones enables Schell to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jones manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schell chips away with some ground and pound. Jones is looking to cinch up a triangle. Schell throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Jones's body to avoid the submission. Jones has instead reached around Schell's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Jones arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). John Jones! Our winner, John Jones, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Babe. Babe tries to clinch but Hunter is having none of it. Hunter moves out of range of the body kick from Babe.

Hunter has a takedown stuffed. A head kick misses from Babe. Hunter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Babe counters by clinching up. Babe lands with a right to the head. Babe tries a knee to the head but Hunter blocks it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kawai lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Boa has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Boa and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Boa blocks a head kick by Kawai.
Kawai throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Boa tries to counter with a takedown but Kawai is quick to defend against it. Boa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Boa shoots for a double leg takedown but Kawai sprawls well. He's pushed Boa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Boa takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Kawai slips out almost immediately though and dives into Boa's guard. Kawai tries to free his leg and advance position but Boa is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boa looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kawai is one step ahead there. Kawai wants to stand but Boa has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Kawai got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kawai has managed to get both his arms back between Boa's legs - danger averted. Boa is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Midnight MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Boa working for a triangle but Kawai defends it easily.
Boa is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kawai is aware though and is defending well. Kawai would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Boa is trying to control the position but Kawai postures up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Boa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kawai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kawai throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kawai tries a head kick but it misses.

Boa closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kawai wants to control but Boa is keeping busy.

Boa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kawai is just riding it out for now. Boa eventually gives up the hold. Boa prevents Kawai from standing back up.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perry slips a straight right by Shopionus. Perry is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Duane Perry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Perry getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Perry cracks Shopionus with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Shopionus tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Perry pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Shopionus is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Liquer wants to stand but Harris has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Harris manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Liquer manages to get himself to full guard.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Harris gets to his feet - Liquer follows without any prompting. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Liquer can do anything to dispel that myth. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mubango shoots in looking for a takedown but Yamato manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mubango's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Mubango motions for Yamato to come forward. Mubango throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Yamato wants to slow Mubango down by chopping away at his legs. Mubango on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Yamato cracks the inside of Mubango's front leg.
