The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kessler on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Freidrichs. Freidrichs obviously looking to wear him down.
Jamison Freidrichs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Freidrichs stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kessler. Kessler throws a solid leg kick but Freidrichs takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Kessler. Kessler thows a left - swing and a miss! Some wild striking there from Freidrichs.
Freidrichs throws a body punch but Kessler moves out of range. Freidrichs misses with a body shot.
Kessler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Freidrichs moves away. Freidrichs was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. A combination from Freidrichs does no damage. Kessler misses with a few strikes there.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kessler. Freidrichs does a little dance to reset his feet. A jab from Freidrichs finds it's way through Kessler's defenses. Nice defenses there by Kessler. Freidrichs throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kessler on the side of the head. Kessler throws the left hand but Freidrichs avoids the punch easily. Freidrichs throws a right hand that Kessler ducks under and follows up with a left that Kessler also avoids with ease. And Kessler responds with a good body kick, but Freidrichs manages to step out the way in time. Freidrichs misses with a jab, cross combination.

He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Freidrichs to score with a decent uppercut. Freidrichs misses with a double jab.
Freidrichs looks to land a left hand but Kessler moved out of range nicely. Kessler feints a counter leg kick. Kessler motions for Freidrichs to come forward. Kessler throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Freidrichs on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kessler. Kessler obviously looking to wear him down.
Freidrichs uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kessler. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Freidrichs on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Freidrichs tests Kessler's chin there with a solid looking shot. Freidrichs throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That was a close round but I would say that Jamison Freidrichs will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Jamison Freidrichs's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Freidrichs throws a combination that misses and Kessler holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Freidrichs makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kessler misses with a knee to the head. Kessler pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kessler throws a nice inside leg kick. Kessler has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Freidrichs is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Kessler lands a leg kick that knocks Freidrichs off balance momentarily. Jamison Freidrichs is winning the standup battle so far. Freidrichs cracks Kessler with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Vimes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hammer connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Vimes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hammer moves away. Good leg kick by Vimes there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Vimes stands and throws Hammer's legs to the side, diving into side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. You can see the frustration on Hammer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Vimes swings around for an armbar but Hammer sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Vimes's guard. Hammer wants to control from the top but Vimes keeps moving. Frank Hammer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hammer throws an elbow that misses. Vimes uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hammer's guard. Nice move by Vimes!

Vimes wants to pass the guard but Hammer is keeping the position. Hammer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vimes is aware though and is defending well. Vimes postures up in Hammer's guard and throws a big left but Hammer blocks it. Frank Hammer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Vimes trying to control the position from guard on top but Hammer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vimes is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chomsky misses with a low kick as Numa jumps back. Nice jab there from Chomsky. Numa darts in looking for a takedown but Chomsky gets double underhooks and turns Numa into the cage. Numa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Chomsky looks to land a left hand but Numa moved out of range nicely. Chomsky definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Chomsky is looking to score with low kicks. Numa feints the counter takedown. Numa shoots in but no luck this time. Numa has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Chomsky. Numa shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Chomsky manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Chomsky looking for a sweep. Not yet Chomsky, not yet. Chomsky not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Numa shoots in looking for a takedown but Chomsky manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Numa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. As Numa tries to get set, Chomsky tries to push him back and clinch up but Numa manages to avoid the attempt. Noam Chomsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keiji Numa. Chomsky lands a nice shot that snaps Numa's head back.
Chomsky attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Numa turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Chomsky misses with an uppercut. Numa saw that one coming. Chomsky gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Numa to score an easy takedown into full guard. Chomsky trying to control the position here. Chomsky is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Numa can do to turn this around? Chomsky trying to keep a closed guard but Numa is proving a slippery customer.

Chomsky takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Numa tries to roll over but Chomsky keeps him under control. Still in half guard, Chomsky seems content to control. Numa is concentrating on defense, preventing Chomsky from advancing position. Chomsky keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chomsky continues to stall. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Chomsky moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Numa. Numa is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Numa on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Chomsky content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Numa trying to control but Chomsky flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Chomsky keeps control of the position easily here as Numa tries to buck him off.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! You can see the frustration on Numa's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Numa flicks out a counter leg kick but Chomsky steps away. Chomsky lands with a shot to the body. Chomsky is looking to score with low kicks. Numa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Chomsky can pounce on him.
Chomsky walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Numa checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Chomsky lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Numa has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Numa and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice defenses there by Numa. Chomsky throws a hook but Numa blocks it. Numa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Chomsky tries to land a front kick but Numa steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Keiji Numa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Chomsky turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

It looks like Kim Jong has been cut. Jong looks to score with a jab to the body but Hymen is just out of range. Jong jabs Hymen to the body, keeping him at a distance. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jong lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Hymen lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jong backs up against the cage.

Hymen smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
