28 - 19 - 0, fighting out of London, Wade Stoker! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stoker misses with a low kick.
Russo wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Russo checks a leg kick. Russo throws a sloppy head kick and Stoker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Russo lunges at Stoker with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Stoker's hand. Stoker scores with a sloppy right hand. Russo should have avoided that one. The fighters circle momentarily. Russo darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
It looks like Wade Stoker has been cut. A chopping leg kick lands by Stoker. Russo connects with a combination that backs up Stoker into the cage. Russo lands a flurry of punches that gets past Stoker's guard. Stoker is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Russo bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sobieski misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A kick lands to the mid section there for Sobieski. Sobieski throws a head kick but Velmu moves out of range.
Velmu wants to clinch up but Sobieski keeps it at a distance. Sobieski throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Velmu uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sobieski. Velmu closes the distance looking to clinch and Sobieski counters with a lovely straight right hand! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A jab from Velmu does it's job there. Sobieski moves out of range of the strikes. Velmu sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Sobieski avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Velmu connects with a jab. Yrjoe Velmu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Velmu wants to clinch. Velmu wants to clinch up but Sobieski keeps it at a distance. Sobieski shapes to counter with a head kick. Velmu jabbing away but nothing is landing. Sobieski displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Velmu throws out the jab. Sobieski lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. A nice inside leg kick there by Velmu. That's going to slow Sobieski down. Velmu throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sobieski stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sobieski explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Velmu wants to clinch. Sobieski wants to counter the offense by Velmu and move into the clinch position. Velmu has managed to clinch.

Our sources have told us that Velmu has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Velmu tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Sobieski on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Velmu closes the distance and clinches. A short right from Velmu on the inside. Sobieski has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Velmu clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Sobieski is throwing shots to the body but Velmu manages to wriggle free. Sobieski pounces on him again and ends up in Velmu's guard. Sobieski throws an elbow that misses. Velmu uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sobieski's guard. Nice move by Velmu! Velmu trying to control but Sobieski is working from the bottom. Sobieski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sobieski wants to hit a switch here but Velmu passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sobieski there! Sobieski regains half guard. Sobieski wants to control but Velmu passes into side.
Sobieski is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Velmu's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Sobieski punching from the bottom.

That was a close second round but I would say that Yrjoe Velmu will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Velmu tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Sobieski counters with a nice body kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Velmu gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sobieski to score an easy takedown into full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Sobieski throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Velmu works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Sobieski keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Velmu's head. Velmu working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sobieski. Sobieski throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sobieski throws a big elbow that misses. Sobieski throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Velmu works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Jan Sobieski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Sobieski throws a head kick that misses. A head kick misses from Sobieski. Velmu tries to close the distance and clinch but Sobieski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jan Sobieski seems to be getting the better of the standup. Sobieski tries to land a front kick but Velmu steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Velmu throws a hook but Sobieski avoids it easily. Sobieski thinks about the counter body kick. Velmu throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sobieski sees it coming and avoids it easily. Yrjoe Velmu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Velmu wants to clinch up but Sobieski keeps it at a distance. Velmu works Sobieski's body with a nice hook. Velmu moves in looking to clinch but Sobieski pushes him off. Sobieski swats away the attempt to clinch by Velmu. Sobieski thinks about the counter body kick.

A head punch blocked on the inside by Sobieski. This has been an exciting period of action! Sobieski ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sobieski no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Velmu preventing the sweep. Velmu has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Velmu wants to control from the top but Sobieski keeps moving. Velmu passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Sobieski is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
And that's the end of the fight! Yrjoe Velmu showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Velmu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Utu moves out of range of the strikes. Tripper throws a low kick, looking for Utu's leg but Utu calmly moves out of range. Tripper misses with a looping left. Utu does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Tripper takes a shot right to the bread basket. Utu has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Tripper is landing a low percentage of strikes. Utu takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Utu pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fighters circling - Utu throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Tripper throws a big counter combination but Utu scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tripper circles away from the clinch attempt.

As Utu backs away, Tripper returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Tripper dives in for a single leg takedown but Utu sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Rau Utu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tripper looks to score with a jab to the body but Utu is just out of range. Tripper just misses with a punch to the body.

and Tripper counters with a body kick. Utu throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Tripper decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Utu's guard. Tripper throws a big right hand that misses. Tripper might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Tripper trying to control the position from guard on top but Utu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tripper looking to sit in guard and control but Utu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tripper is trying to control the position but Utu postures up. Tripper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Utu gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Utu wants to control from the top but Tripper keeps moving. Tripper looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Utu slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Tripper is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tripper trying to keep a closed guard but Utu is proving a slippery customer.
Tripper working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Utu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Utu manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Utu controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Tripper had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Utu defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Tripper is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Utu engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Tripper will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Tripper is looking to wear down Utu with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Tripper keeps the fight on the outside. Utu lands a big head kick that sends Tripper tumbling to the mat! Utu takes a step backwards and waves Tripper back to his feet - he wants the finish!

and Utu counters with a crisp right that sends Tripper to the canvas! Utu follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Donk. Tires catches Pei right on the button with a cross. Tires stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Tires connects with a crisp jab.
Pei is rocked!
And that's the end of the fight! Brick Tires showed his dominance in that final round. Well Tires has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
