Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Buffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Viktor Volkov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bruce Buffer!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Ben Watson and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buffer throws an off balance right hand

and Volkov counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Volkov thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Buffer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Volkov is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Volkov moves into full mount! Buffer won't be happy about that!

Buffer is looking to improve his position but Volkov isn't that keen on the idea.
Volkov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Volkov lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Buffer hang on?

It looks like Bruce Buffer has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Volkov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Volkov is landing with some decent strikes but Buffer is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Volkov cracks Buffer with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Buffer tries to lock up and control but Volkov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Volkov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Buffer looks a forlorn figure.

Buffer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Volkov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Volkov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Volkov lands a big elbow.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Volkov pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Bruce Buffer's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bruce Buffer's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

and Sand connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Sand scores with a jab.
Sand lands with a shot to the body.
Hendrix takes one to the side of the head.
Hendrix takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looks like Caiman Hendrix has been cut.
Hendrix shoots and misses
and Sand counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hendrix takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Sand lands a glancing blow to the side of Hendrix's head.

and Sand makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Sand is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Sand throws a big counter combination but Hendrix scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Hendrix has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sand finds it's way round the side to connect with Hendrix's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sand lands with a good body shot.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Hendrix takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Sand slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Sand lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hendrix at a distance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sand scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

and Sand counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Hendrix seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Sand is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
