Stampfer leaves Polidori with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Stampfer has been working on his boxing with his coaches at St Petersburg MMA Gym in the buildup to the fight.

Stampfer scores with a hook to the body. Polidori takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Polidori is still on wobbly legs! Can Stampfer finish him?
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Polidori has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Polidori shoots in for a double leg but Stampfer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
As Polidori tries to get set, Stampfer tries to push him back and clinch up but Polidori manages to avoid the attempt.
Polidori seems to have recovered his senses.

Polidori throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Stampfer lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Polidori head around and knocks him out cold! Stampfer hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
