The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Mon.

Mon looking to score a takedown here. Hershel is defending well but Mon drives through and ends up in Hershel's guard.
Hershel tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hershel on the ground.
Mon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Hershel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hershel is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mon defends well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Mon has his foot on Hershel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hershel works his way back into a safe position though.
Hershel stands and throws Mon's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hershel trying to control the action but Mon is working from the bottom.
Hershel advances nicely into full mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mon wants to control but Hershel is having none of it.

Hershel is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Mon is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Mon flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Hershel anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Mon and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Hershel slips an arm under Mon chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Hershel has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Hershel is squeezing on Mon like an anaconda would it's prey. Mon fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
