On his way into the cage it seems that Paul Atreides has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Paul Atreides seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Atreides misses with a double jab
and Shula counters with a stiff right hand.
Shula moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Atreides misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shula wants to counter the offense by Atreides and move into the clinch position.
Atreides looks to land a combination. Shula sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

It looks like Mort Shula has been cut.
Atreides feints with a jab and clips Shula right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Shula is sent crashing into the canvas and Atreides leaps in for the kill! Shula tries to get to his feet but Atreides is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Shula is in need of a savior and steps in!

Alves is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Wexler's shoulder. That is not cool.

Wexler tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alves swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Alves shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wexler's guard.

Wexler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alves doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alves manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Alves tries to close the distance and clinch but Wexler swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Alves uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wexler.
Wexler on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Alves. Alves obviously looking to wear him down.
Wexler throws a lazy right hand but Alves sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Alves keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wexler uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Alves.
Alves wants to clinch up but Wexler keeps it at a distance.
Alves connects with a good right hand that stumbles Wexler. Wexler circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Wexler dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Alves throws a quick inside leg kick.

Wexler gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
