5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Raul Mendez! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodolfo tries for a takedown but Mendez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mendez fails with a takedown attempt. Rodolfo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mendez quickly recovers to half guard. Mendez actively working from the bottom here. Rodolfo trying to pass the guard but Mendez defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mendez trying to hold on to Rodolfo's head to control him but Rodolfo postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez is not content to let Rodolfo control the position. Mendez won't allow Rodolfo to pass to mount. Mendez blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rodolfo. Rodolfo is trying to control. Mendez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Rodolfo thows a huge punch but Mendez dodges it nicely.
Rodolfo is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Rodolfo is looking to advance position but Mendez won't allow it. Mendez felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Rodolfo lands strikes from half guard. Mendez has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Rodolfo. Oh but Mendez has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Rodolfo goes limp - he's gone! Mendez jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Willie Johnson! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson tries to clinch there but McLendon circles away.
Johnson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! McLendon closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Johnson quickly recovers to half guard. McLendon trying to control from half guard but Johnson is working away. McLendon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Johnson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McLendon pulls his head out easily. McLendon wants to get back to his feet.
McLendon is trying to control the action in half guard but Johnson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McLendon is looking to advance position but Johnson won't allow it. McLendon is keen to just control but Johnson is a slippery customer. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
That's one minute gone in the round. McLendon moves nicely into side control. McLendon stands up and we're back to a striking position. McLendon fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Johnson to the ground. McLendon is now in Johnson's guard. Johnson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. McLendon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Johnson is keeping the position for now. Johnson will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
McLendon in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. McLendon wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving. Johnson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McLendon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Johnson, up you get! Johnson fails with the takedown. Johnson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from McLendon. McLendon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
McLendon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. McLendon trying to control the position but Johnson is working away. Johnson can't do much from the bottom here. McLendon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson tries to buck McLendon off but McLendon is having none of it. McLendon in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Johnson is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shearer lands a body shot.
Shearer closes the distance and lands a one-two. Hershel dodges the punch combination from Shearer.
A counter left hand to the body from Hershel misses its target. Shearer scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Shearer misses with a leg kick. Hershel jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Shearer throws a leg kick but Hershel moved away. Hershel tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Shearer lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Hershel is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Shearer lands a glancing blow to the side of Hershel's head. Oh Hershel is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hershel loses concentration momentarily and Shearer pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Hershel crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Shearer finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stiglitz needs to keep his hands up - Lindblom had a free shot at his head there. Stiglitz moves forwards but Lindblom connects with a nice, crisp jab. Stiglitz tries for a takedown but Lindblom circles away easily and Lindblom holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Lindblom pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Lindblom tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Stiglitz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Lindblom fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lindblom slaps away a takedown attempt from Stiglitz, before circling back to the center of the mat. Stiglitz is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Lindblom. Lindblom gets caught flat footed, as Stiglitz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pro lands a body punch in the clinch. Pro dips a shoulder and cracks Furiusz with a mighty uppercut! Furiusz falls back against the cage and Pro unloads with a barrage of strikes! Furiusz is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Pro screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

La Grande definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Highfield rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but La Grande moves out of range and avoids them all easily. La Grande was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Highfield getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Highfield throws a solid leg kick but La Grande takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Highfield. La Grande is looking for a counter combo. La Grande tries to clinch there but Highfield circles away.

No joy there for Highfield, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
La Grande forces Highfield back against the cage and clinches. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A nice glancing elbow lands by La Grande. La Grande tries to land a knee to the head but Highfield blocks with his arms.
