The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beliveau gets caught napping as Wilson dives in and scores a takedown. Beliveau manages to retain guard. Wilson stands up over Beliveau, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Beliveau avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Wilson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Wilson slips nicely into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wilson is pressing down on Beliveau's thigh, looking to free his foot. Beliveau is holding on for now. Wilson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas scores with a decent looking hook. Thomas keeps Corleone at a distance using the push kick. Thomas dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Thomas misses with an attempted mid kick.
Thomas lands a head shot. Corleone throws a hook but Thomas avoids it easily. Thomas lands a big head kick that sends Corleone tumbling to the mat! Thomas takes a step backwards and waves Corleone back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Vito Corleone has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Thomas finds Corleone's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Corleone flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Thomas lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Corleone will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ash Thomas! Ash Thomas bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.

And that's the end of the fight! John Watson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Watson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
