1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Tyler! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gostosao leaves Tyler with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Tyler defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gostosao. Tyler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gostosao as he jumps to the side. Tyler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gostosao but Gostosao pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jonas Gostosao has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Tyler. Tyler shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Gostosao appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Horrible takedown attempt by Tyler or perhaps it was just good defense by Gostosao, which made it look bad. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tyler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Gostosao tries to clinch up but Tyler circles away and keeps his distance. Gostosao looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tyler is fending him off so far but Gostosao persists. Nope, Tyler circles away and we're back to standing. Gostosao misses with a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gostosao gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Tyler.
Gostosao is pressed up against the cage. Tyler has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gostosao down to the mat. Gostosao avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Gostosao fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Tyler gets caught flat footed, as Gostosao shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Gostosao wants to control from the top but Tyler keeps moving. Tyler controls Gostosao momentarily but Gostosao frees himself. Gostosao tries to stand but Tyler is controlling from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tyler not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gostosao controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Gostosao stops Tyler from standing up. Tyler is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gostosao is aware though and is defending well. Gostosao wants to stand and escape but instead Tyler has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tyler trying to control the position from guard on top but Gostosao is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyler would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Gostosao is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Gostosao seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Gostosao defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tyler. Gostosao keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Tyler looks winded! Gostosao closes the distance and clinches. Tyler is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Gostosao tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Tyler manages to break the clinch.
Gostosao misses the jab. Tyler throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Tyler misses with a few strikes there.
Gostosao throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Tyler throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gostosao tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tyler misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Gostosao seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Excellent takedown into side control there by Gostosao. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jonas Gostosao dominated that round. That's time! Gostosao's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Gostosao throws a shot from downtown. Tyler moves away and avoids it. Tyler lands a jab-cross combination. Gostosao shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tyler but Tyler pushes him off and we're back to square one. Gostosao throws a head kick that misses. Tyler is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Tyler throws a series of strikes that have Gostosao backpedaling.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tyler is defended easily by Gostosao. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tyler misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gostosao.
Tyler wants to clinch but Gostosao slips to the side and Gostosao decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tyler's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tyler looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Gostosao looking to pass the guard. Tyler wants to stand up but Gostosao is controlling him. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Gostosao wants to control from the top but Tyler keeps moving.

Tyler has his hands clasped together but Gostosao extends and breaks Tyler's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Gostosao.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Loo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Loo comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Loo tries to clinch but Bendeguz moves out of range. Bendeguz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Bendeguz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Loo defends it nicely. Bendeguz tries for a takedown but Loo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bendeguz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Loo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Loo looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Bendeguz puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Loo wants to get back to full guard but Bendeguz has passed into side control. Bendeguz tries to advance to mount but Loo denies him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bendeguz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bendeguz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Bendeguz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Loo keeps working. Bendeguz working the ground and pound but Loo is defending the strikes. Bendeguz wants to stand but Loo is controlling his arm. Bendeguz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Loo, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Loo struggling a bit here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Loo managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Bendeguz.
Bendeguz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Loo keeps working. Loo dodges the ground and pound from Bendeguz. Bendeguz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Bendeguz stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bendeguz's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Bendeguz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Loo closes the distance and clinches up with Bendeguz, looking for a takedown. Loo pushes Bendeguz against the cage but Bendeguz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Loo fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bendeguz pushes Loo up against the cage in a clinch. A short right from Bendeguz. Bendeguz turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Bendeguz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Loo can do to turn this around? Loo is not content to let Bendeguz control the position. Loo tries to bench press Bendeguz off him but Bendeguz keeps the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bendeguz staying calm. Bendeguz wants to stand but Loo is controlling his arm.

Loo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Bendeguz tries to close the distance and clinch but Loo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Loo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Bendeguz is looking to counter the offense by Loo and move into the clinch. Loo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bendeguz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Loo somewhat. Loo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Loo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bendeguz tries to avoid it but Loo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bendeguz to the ground. Bendeguz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Lagzi Bendeguz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lee Loo. Loo darts in looking for a takedown but Bendeguz gets double underhooks and turns Loo into the cage. Loo tries to keep at a distance but Bendeguz has taken the fight into the clinch. Bendeguz is working for takedown but Loo is calmly controlling the position for now. Bendeguz pulls guard effortlessly. Bendeguz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Loo manages to get himself to full guard.

It looks like Pakan Tot has been cut. Paulman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tot shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Paulman sprawls well. Paulman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tot gets slowly back to his feet. Paulman tries a quick counter leg kick but Tot is wise to it. Paulman rushes Tot and presses him up against the cage. Paulman lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Tot is breathing heavily. Tot wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Paulman has him pressed against the cage. Paulman with a knee to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Paulman is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Paulman drops Tot with a big knee straight up the middle! Tot is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
Tot is rocked! Paulman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Oh Tot is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Paulman scores a nice knee to the body.
Paulman lands a big knee to the head and Tot goes down! Paulman pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!

That was a close round but I would say that Kornelius Bobulus will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
