37 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Latka Gravas! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. A slow jab from Hunter misses its intended target. Hunter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gravas is trying to defend but Hunter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Hunter is controlling the pace.
Gravas gets full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hunter throws a big right hand that misses. Hunter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gravas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! It seemed like Gravas was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Hunter closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gravas's guard. Hunter throws a big right hand that misses. Gravas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hunter controls the pace. Gravas has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Gravas throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Hunter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gravas has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hunter finds it's way round the side to connect with Gravas's head. Hunter connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Hunter looks to land a combination but Gravas avoids it well. Gravas tries to counter by closing the distance. Hunter tries a head kick but it misses.

Brandy gets caught flat footed, as Higashikuni shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Higashikuni with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Brandy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Higashikuni throws a strike but Brandy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Higashikuni is on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rubicon Brandy. Well Higashikuni has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brandao steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Boulami. Boulami misses with a body kick. Boulami explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. No joy there for Boulami, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Brandao lands with an overhand left. Brandao feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Boulami's calf. Boulami looks to land a right hand but Brandao moved out of range. Brandao waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Boulami. Brandao throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Boulami blocks a leg kick. Boulami does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Boulami avoids the body shot from Brandao.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brandao is looking to chop away at Boulami's legs. Brandao gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Boulami crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Brandao - the referee stops the clock and Boulami gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. Brandao has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Boulami is on him like a limpet, forcing Brandao back against the cage. Still in the clinch, Brandao scores with a nice short uppercut. Boulami is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Boulami lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Brandao backwards. Boulami scores with a shoulder strike. Brandao lands a left hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Scott works a leg free and moves into half guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Scott trying to mount his opponent but Krause defends it. Krause might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Scott throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
