The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba has a takedown stuffed.
Brutus Fulgore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fulgore lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sakuraba circles away quickly and effectively.

Sakuraba scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Sakuraba is looking to take a break and control but Fulgore is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fulgore throws a lazy right hand but Sakuraba sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Fulgore scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sakuraba doesn't seem bothered though.
Sakuraba throws a hook to the side of Fulgore's head but Fulgore sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Fulgore turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

and Sakuraba counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sakuraba.
Fulgore knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sakuraba on the ground.

Fulgore looking for a guillotine here but Sakuraba defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sakuraba is working Fulgore over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Fulgore has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sakuraba can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sakuraba content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Sakuraba lands a couple of elbows.
Sakuraba connects with a couple of short punches.
Sakuraba in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Sakuraba got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fulgore has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sakuraba has managed to get both his arms back between Fulgore's legs - danger averted.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Sakuraba working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Fulgore working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sakuraba doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sakuraba manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Sakuraba fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fulgore sprawls well initially but Sakuraba persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Fulgore has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sakuraba is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Fulgore.

After the fight, Yoshimitzu Sakuraba was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Centura moves into the clinch.

Centura breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Minor does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Centura lands with a nice body punch.
Minor connects with a right hand. Centura shakes it off.
A jab from Minor finds it's way through Centura's defenses.

Minor gets tackled into the cage by Centura. Centura maintains the clinch.

Centura breaks the clinch.

Centura fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Minor, pushing him back against the cage.
Minor is looking to take this one to the mat.
Minor looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Centura just leaning against Minor, taking a breather.

Centura escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick misses from Centura.
Centura cracks Minor with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Minor fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Minor looks to land a right hand but Centura moved out of range.

Minor jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
A looping hook to the body misses from Minor. Centura does a little dance to reset his feet.
Centura tries to clinch there but Minor circles away.

Minor tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Minor has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Minor is working to tighten his grip on Centura's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Centura has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Minor is really squeezing tight and eventually Centura passes out! Minor breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Gerald Minor seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
