Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lagzi Bendeguz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonas Gostosao!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bendeguz feints and as Gostosao raises his hands in defense, Bendeguz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gostosao is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bendeguz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gostosao is proving hard to escape from.

Gostosao has his foot on Bendeguz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bendeguz works his way back into a safe position though.
Bendeguz content to stall in guard here.
Bendeguz tries to free his leg and advance position but Gostosao is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bendeguz would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Bendeguz sets himself, and Gostosao steps forward looking for the clinch! Bendeguz avoids it this time.
Bendeguz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gostosao pinned against the cage. Gostosao gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gostosao leaves Bendeguz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gostosao using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Bendeguz has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Bendeguz has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Gostosao after a bit of a struggle.

Gostosao has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bendeguz uses from the top position.

Bendeguz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gostosao does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gostosao can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bendeguz is really struggling to control Gostosao but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bendeguz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And Gostosao tries to counter it with a takedown but Bendeguz pushes his down on his head and steps out.
