The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogers fails with the takedown. Kahric throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rogers's waist but Rogers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kahric off to one side. Kahric shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Rogers gets caught flat footed, as Kahric shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Rogers wants to stand up but Kahric is controlling him. Kahric won't allow Rogers to sweep him here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kahric drops back looking for a leg! Rogers is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rogers manages to kick Kahric off! Kahric jumps back into Rogers's guard. Kahric prevents Rogers from getting back to his feet. Kahric drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rogers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kahric has Rogers in his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers trying to control but Kahric is working from the bottom. Kahric is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Rogers wants to control from the top but Kahric keeps moving. Rogers looking to pass the guard. Kahric has his foot on Rogers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rogers works his way back into a safe position though. Rogers controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kahric had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rogers defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rogers slips nicely into half guard. Kahric looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Rogers looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Kahric is staying active underneath Rogers, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Kahric has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Rogers works his way into side control. Kahric manages to get back to half guard. Rogers takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Kahric is pressing down on Rogers's left leg trying to get back to full guard. Rogers is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kahric is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Rogers avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kahric has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rogers can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Rogers wants to control from the top but Kahric keeps moving. Rogers seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Kahric has an active guard here but Rogers has managed to pass into half guard.

Rogers looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Kahric tries to get to full guard but Rogers has control of the leg. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Escobar misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bradley.
Escobar has a takedown stuffed. Bradley misses with a body kick. Escobar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bradley but Bradley pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bradley is looking for the big counter here. Escobar fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bradley manages to avoid it. Bradley unleashes a big counter combination but Escobar bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Ryan Escobar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Escobar misses with a straight right. Bradley goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Escobar shoots in and drives through. Bradley sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Escobar. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Escobar tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bradley sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Escobar somewhat. Escobar has his takedown stuffed and Bradley counters with a series of strikes. Escobar will be more careful next time no doubt.

Escobar nods at Bradley to acknowledge the strikes. Escobar goes for a double leg but Bradley avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bradley continues to drive forward. Bradley scores with a one two! Escobar had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Ryan Escobar has been cut. Escobar darts in looking for a takedown but Bradley gets double underhooks and turns Escobar into the cage. Bradley throws the kick towards the body but Escobar avoids it. Bradley uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Escobar.

Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Palmer throws a nice outside leg kick. Owen tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Palmer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Palmer passes Owen's left leg - he's now in half guard. Owen looks like he's trying to stand up.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Palmer swings around for an armbar but Owen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Palmer's guard.

Owen is looking to stand up but Palmer won't let him. Owen is fighting to break Palmer's control of his arms but Palmer is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Owen wants to get up but he can't break Palmer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Owen looking to sit in guard and control but Palmer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Owen striking off his back, scoring a few points. Palmer trying to control but Owen is working from the bottom. Owen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Palmer has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. I was talking to Owen's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Owen tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Palmer's elbow. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Owen. Owen tries to throw a body punch but Palmer avoids it by throwing Owen back against the cage. Owen wants to stall.
Palmer is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Owen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Palmer drops down looking for an ankle pick but Owen pulls his leg out and moves away.
James Owen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Palmer. Palmer throws a body punch but Owen moves out of range. Owen changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Owen gets a clinch. Owen missing with knees to the body.
