Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Colston! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pacquiao tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Colston swings for the body but Pacquiao moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pacquiao looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Pacquiao lands with a nice combination. Colston backs away looking to recover. Colston swats away the attempt to clinch by Pacquiao. Pacquiao tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Colston paws at him with a jab and circles away. Pacquiao takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Colston keeps the fight on the outside. Colston is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Colston just misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pacquiao throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Colston feints the counter takedown. Pacquiao takes the fight into the clinch. Colston misses with a shot to the kidneys.

He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Colston land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Colston stands and salutes the crowd.

Filipou tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ale defends well and Filipou ends up having to push Ale into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Filipou with a lazy takedown attempt and Ale counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Amber Ale has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimiros Filipou. Ale is working for a submission of some sort.
Ale seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Filipou does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yoshida looks for a takedown but Superb sprawls well. Superb throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Yoshida stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Yoshida gets in close and instigates a clinch. A short right from Superb on the inside. Yoshida has Superb pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Superb manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Superb is pressed up against the cage. Yoshida has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Superb down to the mat. Superb avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Ultra Superb has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryo Yoshida. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Superb. Yoshida changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Superb tries to avoid it but Yoshida manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Superb to the ground. Superb escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Superb tries to clinch up. Ultra Superb seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A decent looking cross lands there for Superb. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Yoshida is defended easily by Superb. Superb lands with a hook. Yoshida tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Yoshida fails to land the takedown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murphy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Samsa.
Samsa on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Murphy misses with an uppercut. Samsa saw that one coming. Samsa walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Murphy avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Samsa slips under a jab. Murphy moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Murphy throws a jab when Samsa was well out of range. Samsa throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Jim Murphy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Samsa's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Murphy connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Samsa scrambles back to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Samsa tried to score with a low kick but Murphy checks it. Samsa tries a head kick but it misses.

Nice jab there from Murphy. Murphy has been the more effective fighter overall so far. A head kick from Samsa lands but Murphy takes it in his stride. Samsa is rocked! Murphy lands with an overhand left. Oh Samsa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Samsa lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Murphy has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Murphy and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Murphy connects with a jab. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Murphy works the jab nicely. Samsa walks straight into a right hand from Murphy - that's dropped him! Murphy jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Samsa from any more punishment! Samsa complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jim Murphy! Jim Murphy bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.

Hate throws a series of punches but Carter moves out of range. Hate lands a big head kick that sends Carter tumbling to the mat! Hate takes a step backwards and waves Carter back to his feet - he wants the finish! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Carter lands a jab-cross combination. Hate tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Carter was well out of range. Poor timing from Hate. Carter tries to counter by clinching up but Hate breaks away and moves out of range. Hate feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Carter sprawling to the canvas! Carter rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Hate finish him?!
Carter is rocked! Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Hate lands with a nice body kick. Oh Carter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hate feints a jab and as Carter dips his head, Hate unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Carter right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Carter falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Hate smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Harry Hate! Harry Hate is the new light heavyweight champion! After the fight, Harry Hate was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
