3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Parker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ian Turner! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parker pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Parker throws a lazy head kick and Turner counters with a nice uppercut. Turner avoids the head kick by Parker.
Parker is looking to chop away at Turner's legs. Turner is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Parker. Parker throws a head kick that misses. Turner has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Parker is landing a low percentage of strikes. Parker looks to land a left hand but Turner moved out of range nicely. Turner changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Parker scores with a head kick. Turner tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Ian Turner has been cut. Turner tries a low kick but Parker avoids it. Turner lands a big head kick that sends Parker tumbling to the mat! Turner takes a step backwards and waves Parker back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Peter Parker has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Parker wants to land a leg kick but Turner is out of range. Turner lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Parker is rocked! Turner misses with a two punch combination.
Oh Parker is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Turner lands a slapping body shot.
Turner scores with a spinning back kick! Turner displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Parker throws out the jab. Turner appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Parker seems to have got his legs back now. Turner misses with an uppercut. Parker saw that one coming. Parker takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Peter Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Turner feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Parker's calf. Parker pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Turner throws out a counter right but Parker avoids it with no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Parker. Parker takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Turner throws a body shot but no joy. Turner takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Turner cracks Parker with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Turner throws a right hand that Parker ducks under and follows up with a left that Parker also avoids with ease. Nice takedown defense from Turner. No joy for Parker on that attempt. Turner tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Turner keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Turner clinches up against the cage. Turner misses with a hook to the ribs.
Turner is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Parker is keeping busy. Parker wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parker tries to break the clinch but Turner is controlling the position. Turner prevents Parker from breaking the clinch. Turner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Parker fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Parker has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Parker throws a nice head kick!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Parker tries to clinch up but Turner circles away and keeps his distance. Turner was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Parker throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Turner crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stirling uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Redz. Stirling takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. A looping hook to the body misses from Redz. Stirling does a little dance to reset his feet. Stirling looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Redz lunges at Stirling with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Stirling's hand. Redz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stirling throws a big counter combination but Redz scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Stirling throws a lazy right hand but Redz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Stirling misses with a double jab.
Redz swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Stirling defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Redz. Stirling misses with a right hand and Redz counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Stirling tries to clinch there but Redz circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stirling jabs Redz right on the nose. Redz blinks but takes it well. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Redz has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Redz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stirling lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Redz circles away quickly and effectively.

It looked like Stirling was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Redz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stirling was well out of range. Poor timing from Redz. Redz misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Stirling.

Stirling gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Alastair Stirling has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Romano Redz. Stirling tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Redz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Stirling thows a left - swing and a miss! Stirling slips under a jab from Redz. Stirling scores with a jab to the body. Stirling on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Stirling lands an overhand right. Redz takes a swing at Stirling's ribcage but misses. Stirling ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Stirling staying out of range there. Stirling throws a hook to the side of Redz's head but Redz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Redz is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Stirling had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Stirling throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Redz sees it coming and avoids it easily. Redz bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Redz works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Stirling takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Stirling scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. A jab from Redz misses. Redz takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Redz is rocked! Redz shoots for a double leg takedown but Stirling sprawls well. He's pushed Redz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Stirling lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Redz circles away quickly and effectively. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Redz slips a jab from Stirling. Redz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Redz lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Redz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Stirling. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Romano Redz will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Redz lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Redz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stirling is fending him off so far but Redz persists. Nope, Stirling circles away and we're back to standing. Stirling drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Redz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Stirling throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Redz tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Stirling defends well and Redz ends up having to push Stirling into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Stirling connects with a body shot that sends Redz's belly button to the back. Redz shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Redz ducks under a wild hook from Stirling. Redz connects with the punch. Alastair Stirling is winning the standup battle so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Redz shoots in and drives through. Stirling sprawls well. Alastair Stirling has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Romano Redz. Redz connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Sloppy strikes from Redz. Those never looked like landing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Stirling lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Redz circles away quickly and effectively. Redz takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Alastair Stirling is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stirling stalks Redz and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Redz's face. Redz staggers backwards, shaken. Redz shoots in but no luck this time. Redz connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Stirling drops Redz with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Redz looks back up at him and smiles so Stirling waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Redz is still on wobbly legs! Can Stirling finish him? This has been an exciting period of action! Redz misses with a two punch combination.
Redz is breathing heavily. Stirling rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Redz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Stirling cracks Redz with a hook to the temple - Redz is on wobbly legs here! Stirling swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Redz falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Stirling wins by TKO!

The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Lopez fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Akabaro checks it well. Akabaro lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Kwame Akabaro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lopez misses with a body shot.
Lopez will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Akabaro wants to hold on but Lopez pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lopez throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Akabaro because Lopez loaded up on that one. Akabaro manages to regain half guard. Good work. Akabaro is looking for a sweep. Lopez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Akabaro felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Lopez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Akabaro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Akabaro is looking to control Lopez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Akabaro avoid being mounted?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akabaro wants to get back to full guard. Lopez with the ground and pound but Akabaro uses the opportunity to regain guard. We've been hearing that Lopez has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Akabaro keeping full guard, as Lopez tries to pass. Akabaro is trying to control the position but Lopez postures up. Lopez with a flurry of punches that miss. Lopez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Akabaro is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Akabaro has escaped and now he's on top!

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lopez's guard. Lopez is looking to improve his position.

Akabaro throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Lopez counters with a shoot takedown. Akabaro fights it but they end up in guard.

He's now in Lopez's guard. Nice move by Akabaro! Lopez wants to improve his position but instead Akabaro has moved into half guard.

Lopez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Lopez is looking for a sweep. Akabaro is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lopez has a hand on Akabaro's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Akabaro takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Pepe Lopez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lopez is trying to escape the mount.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A big left from Highjack misses. Papaioanou drops his hands momentarily. Highjack doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Papaioanou staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Papaioanou doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
