The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sanchez tries to bum rush Animai with a series of wild strikes but Animai uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Sanchez throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Animai fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez avoids it really well and circles away. Animai clinches with his opponent.
Sanchez throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

No luck for Animai with that takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sanchez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Animai. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vanapa Animai. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sanchez throws a nice looking combination but Animai bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Animai fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Animai throws a body punch but Sanchez moves out of range. Animai closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Animai is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sanchez sees it coming and defends easily. Animai is trying for a kimura here. Sanchez looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Animai wins by kimura!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grabovski displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Riley throws out the jab. Riley walks into a jab. Grabovski stalks Riley and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Riley's face. Riley staggers backwards, shaken. Grabovski fails in his attempt to clinch. Riley lands a big head kick that sends Grabovski tumbling to the mat! Riley takes a step backwards and waves Grabovski back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Frey Grabovski has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Riley drops Grabovski with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Grabovski looks back up at him and smiles so Riley waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Grabovski is rocked! We've been told by Grabovski's head coaches at Hilo Training Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Grabovski misses with a few strikes there.
Oh Grabovski is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Grabovski lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Riley backs up against the cage.
Grabovski seems to have got his legs back now. Riley moves in close and cracks Grabovski with a massive right hand! Grabovski, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Riley!

Pettis throws a jab but it's blocked by Smirnov. Smirnov misses with a looping left. Smirnov getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Pettis lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Smirnov head around and knocks him out cold! Pettis hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kruth dives in for a single leg takedown but Goins sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Goins appears to be looking for a big counter. Kruth tries to land a leg kick but Goins saw it coming and moves away.
