The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ross attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Hermansson tries to keep at a distance but Ross has taken the fight into the clinch. Hermansson is trying to pull guard but Ross turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Hermansson is pushing Ross up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Ross looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hermansson's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Ross is holding on here and Hermansson must be using up a lot of energy. Ross has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Hermansson gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jan Olov Hermansson! A less than humble Jan Olov Hermansson misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.

I was talking to Durant's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Durant tries to land knees in the clinch but Jenkins avoids the damage to the body. Jenkins wants a takedown but no success here.
Durant's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Durant tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Jenkins tries to stall but Durant uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Durant wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Jenkins chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Durant can pounce on him.
Durant lands with an overhand left. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jenkins takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turris throws a front kick aimed at Ramanujam's knee but Ramanujam avoids it well. Ramanujam buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Turris lands with a right hand. Ramanujam is looking to slow Turris down with leg kicks. Ramanujam throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
It looked like Turris was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. A slow jab from Ramanujam misses its intended target. Turris avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Ramanujam throws a leg kick and Turris counters with a lovely straight right hand! Ramanujam's coach down at THC playhouse was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ramanujam's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ramanujam throws a leg kick and Turris counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A good leg kick by Ramanujam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A shot to the liver by Bergfried. Beautiful body shot. Loompa tries a low kick but Bergfried avoids it. Bergfried tried to counter with a leg kick but Loompa avoided it. Loompa misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bergfried.
Bergfried fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Loompa looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Bergfried stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Loompa. Bergfried scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Bergfried looks to land a left hand but Loompa moved out of range nicely. Bergfried dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Loompa. That did some damage! Loompa pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bergfried is out of range and Loompa settles back down. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ring does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Tate changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. A head kick misses from Ring. A jab lands there for Ring. Ring lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Tate is rocked! Tate moves out of range of the body kick. Tate looks to score with a jab to the body but Ring is just out of range. Ring throws a sloppy head kick and Tate moves out of range easily. Ring tries to close the distance and clinch but Tate swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ring pulls out of a head kick attempt.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to William Burns. Well Burns has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
