The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ash fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ash misses with a wild combination.
Ashton changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Ash lands the left hand.
Ash throws out a loose jab but Ashton uses good head movement to avoid it.
It looked like Ashton was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Ashton fails to land with a series of punches.
A telegraphed right hand from Ash misses the target.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ashton.

Ash has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Ashton celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Romero moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Shadow definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
A jab from Shadow does it's job there.
Romero scores with a nice head shot.
Shadow circles away from the clinch attempt

and Shadow counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Romero controls Shadow momentarily but Shadow frees himself.
Shadow trying to control but Romero is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Romero has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shadow can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Romero is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Shadow is looking to control Romero's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shadow avoid being mounted?

Romero seems to be working for a kimura but Shadow defends the submission attempt.

Romero throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Shadow sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A combination from Shadow does no damage.

Romero takes a swing at Shadow's ribcage but misses.
Jab, jab by Shadow - just one landing.
Shadow throws a leg kick but Romero moved away.
Romero tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shadow paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A little feinted left hand from Shadow on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Romero throws a right hand that Shadow ducks under and follows up with a left that Shadow also avoids with ease.
A counter left hand to the body from Shadow misses its target.

Shadow manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Romero on his heels. He'll look to pass Romero's guard now, I'm sure.

Shadow postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Romero is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shadow, into his guard.

My spies in Montreal Fighter's Gym (4.5* Sparring) inform me that Romero has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Lehner uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cade has time to react.

Lehner jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

Lehner on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Cade tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lehner was well out of range. Poor timing from Cade.
Cade blocks a jab.
Cade appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Lehner seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Cade buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Lehner throws a hook but Cade avoids it easily.
It seemed like Cade was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Cade chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lehner can pounce on him.
Lehner connects with a nice looking jab.
Cade feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Lehner's calf.
Good leg kick by Cade there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Cade shoots in looking for a takedown. Lehner tries to sprawl out of it but Cade keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lehner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cade feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Lehner's calf.
