The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robbins keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rodri looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Robbins is fending him off so far but Rodri persists. Nope, Robbins circles away and we're back to standing.
Rodri could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Robbins gets a clinch.

Robbins has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Rodri is trying to keep an underhook but Robbins manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Rodri is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Robbins's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Robbins's back!
Robbins looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Rodri misses with a punch to the head.
You can see the frustration on Robbins's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Robbins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rodri got a little sloppy there for a moment and Robbins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rodri has managed to get both his arms back between Robbins's legs - danger averted.

Rodri shoots in looking for a takedown. Robbins tries to sprawl out of it but Rodri keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Robbins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rodri is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Robbins wants to improve his position but Rodri is controlling well.

Dylan Robbins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well Robbins has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Horrible takedown attempt by Ale or perhaps it was just good defense by Van Gaal, which made it look bad.
